I'm a big fan of The Eagles.....I liked whatever earlier stuff they
released but Hotel California, we all agree, is one brilliant
album...in my opinion the inclusion of Joe Walsh in the line-up
had a lot to do with the sound of that album and of the one that
followed...The Long Run.....
Fav. Eagles tracks.....what I can think of...:
Hotel California.....says it all
King of Hollywood....
Wasted Time....
Take it easy......laid back :-)
oh yeah...not directly related to The Eagles...Don Henley's album
'Building the perfect Beast' is excellent for anyone interested
in giving it a listen...includes 'The Boys of Summer'

with "Boys of Summer". Maybe I should dig it out and give it another
whirl.
I think their earlier stuff is a little under-rated. Also, anyone
know anything about the rumour that they were going to make "Desperado"
into a film? And as for the rumours of concerts in Colorado...

Yes I saw that memorable Hotel California clip. I can honestly say
that I have never known such feeling and atmosphere come across
in ANY live film clip before. It was brilliant.
I did record it BUT... It was at the tail end of an E240 tape and
I couldn't afford to write off a whole tape just for it. At least

Joe, it's not a restaurant at all but a jewelry store on Fifth Ave.
in NYC. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" was a film starring Audrey Hepburn
about a girl who came to NYC seeking her fortune. It's a "dream"
of hers to be able to shop at Tiffanys. After rough nights on the
town she shows up there at dawn, just staring at the place and
waiting for the day she can frequent the place. Thus the title...

Keith's day) ... the Eagles are reuniting in the spring.
Don Henley and Glenn Frey are going to record an album when
DH gets back from Japan and there will be the obligatory tour
to follow.
Apparently these two guys were the only important ones in the
group because the author of the piece goes on to say that there
is still some animosity "within" Don Felder, Timothy Schmidt and
Joew Walsh, who was publicly feuding with Henley last year when
both men claimed rights to play certain Eagles tunes.
The headline reads The Eagles Hatch a Comeback ... funny, I thought
the Eagles were five guys, not two.

for the Eagles being five guys: yes, they were, but there were a lot of

mainstay (although Felder did a lot too). Let's wait and see what

For anyone interested, the Eagles have a video out that was filmed at
the start of their summer "Hell Freezes Over" tour and a companion CD.
The personnel in the band are as follows.....
Don Henley, Glen Frey, Timothy B. Schmidt, Don Felder, Joe Walsh.
It includes some new material as well as some old standards. Well
worth checking out.
The name of the Video and CD is, as you might guess, "Hell Freezes

The tickets said the Eagles will be on stage at 7:15pm, after support.
Didn't really believe they would so turned up at 7:00pm expecting them
to be on at 8-8:30'ish.
The Eagles came on stage just after 7:20pm.
Opened with "Hotel California" - wow
The first hour was a mix of standard Eagle classics.
A break after about an hour and a quarter.
The next "segment" was filled with Eagles solo hits...
The Heat is On, The Boyze of Summer, Life's been good.
Then "Rocky Mountain Way".... Gobsmacked!
The last hour was building to a finale. Superb hits, everyone on their
feet. Excellent atmosphere and excellent music.
After numerous encores they finished off (at 10:30pm) with their last
two numbers of the night:-
Desperado - lighters flickering like stars, the audience singing above
the band. I couldn't believe I was really there(!).
Take It Easy - Back to where they started.
Excellent concert, excellent venue, excellent atmosphere (particularly
the second set), excellent band. An all around excellent experience.
Still haven't really got down to earth. If you even remotely like the
Eagles then go - you will NOT be disappointed.
- I'm going again this Friday to Manchester NYNEX.
