413.0. "relation process-DTE" by 52919::ALFONSO (MCS Madrid) Thu Jun 05 1997 16:07
Hi,
We have a question from a customer.
He has a VAX VMS 5.5-2, running ACMS applications; and connect to X.25
via a DEMSA with X25Router V1.1 BL7p.
There are 4 DTE connected to the DEMSA, two of them for the same network
(INFOBAN, a private network). To this network, the calls can go through
any of this two DTEs.
The question from the customer is if there is any way to know which
DTE is using an ACMS process in the VAX machine. He suspects that one
of the two DTE from the INFOBAN network is slower than the other, and
wants to know which DTE is using each process in the VAX. Also wants
to know if there is any way to force the call go out through a specific
DTE (without put the other DTE in OFF, of course).
In the router, we can see the links between the VAX and the DEMSA, with
NCP SHO K LINKS, and we can see the relation between a process in the VAX
and a process in the router.
But what is the meaning of the "PROCESS" field in the router ?.
Is there any way to relate this "process" in the router with a concrete
DTE ?.
Any help appreciated,
Thanks,
Alfonso Martin.
