4676.0. "FrontPage 97 on an Alpha PWS - won't work..." by BLKRUS::KBERRY (Kathleen Berry, dtn 225-5190) Fri May 16 1997 18:07

(also posted in fx32 and web_authoring notes files, but putting here out
    of desperation!)

    Hi,

I just received an Alpha PWS 433a and am running NT 4.0 SP2 and FX!32
    V1.1 (b0148-001).

I've installed FrontPage 97 using the install wizard and all appears to
go well during the installation. However, when I attempt to open a
web using the FrontPage explorer (the web is on an nt server
running IIS V3.0) I receive the following error

    	"System exception: access violation".

I know that I have the correct permissions to access this web 'cause I
can still connect to it via FrontPage 97 installed on an intel box...

Here's the funky part. It HAS worked 1 time for me. I was able to
open this web once. But can not get it to work all the time (or even
    most of the time).

Any ideas? Is there anyone else out there using this tool on an alpha
    pc?

    Thanks,
    Kathleen

This is the wrong place for this. If you asked in FX32 you should be
getting your replies there. That's were the FX!32 developers hang out. It's
their problem if it's not Microsoft's.

	I've write-locked this note.
