Hello,

I have posted the following note in the Exchange conference.

Can someone confirm that with the current/future VMS Netscape
& Exchange server V5 I will be able to run my Exchange client ?

    Thanks /Ofer

Hello,

Can I run Exchange from VMS ?

Exchange Server V5 supports an access through a Web browser. There is
a Netscape version for VMS, is that mean that I can access my Exchange
mailbox from the VMS Netscape ?

Thanks /Ofer

If you have a server running V5 (which has
been configured to support this), then it won't
matter what platform the browser is on.

I'm assuming the VMS version supports frames,
I think that's a requirement.

I think the Exchange Web "stuff" in V5.0, only supports the latest web
browsers from Netscape and Microsoft. Therefore if the VMS version of
Netscape supports Java & ActiveX (and the Exchange server you're
connecting to is at V5.0 (HTTP enabled) & the server is running V3.0 of
IIS) you can read your Exchange mail.

You're welcome to try it yourself. I doubt you're going
to find a message of support here.

If Netscape for VMS supports email via POP3 and SMTP, then
it should work fine with Exchange 5.0 server. You will
NOT be able to run the Exchange Client on VMS. You will
NOT get access to public folders (except via the web)

But most of all, give it a try and let us know.

Please ask these questions in the Exchange Notes Conference. This
  is not the place.
