4646.0. "Is the Internet InfoCenter Server Sizer Broken ?" by BBO010::TILBY () Fri May 02 1997 03:24

I've just gotten the following bounced email when sending an urgent
query to [email protected] (which is the comment
email address for the Customer WebSizer/Calculator) as follows. My
email has the basic question - Is the Sizer broken ? - see my email in
    this entry.

Anyone from the appropriate IBG area have any ideas ?

    Thanks
    Grant ...

Subject: Problems with the Server Sizer ?
    Date: Fri, 2 May 1997 16:00:49 +1000

    Hi Guys,

I've just had a Business Partner point out to me (and I've duplicated
his woes) that there seems to be something amiss on the Internet
InfoCenter "Sizing a Responsive Server" page.

    Starting at
    http://webforum.research.digital.com/innovators/public/unix-server-sizer/
and taking either of the two options (Considerations for Designing etc
    http://webforum.research.digital.com/innovators/public/unix-server-sizer/
srvrcons.htm or Calculations to Help etc ...
    http://webforum.research.digital.com/innovators/public/unix-server-sizer/
srvrcalc.htm ) brings you to a text document about the appropriate subject
    with a Ismap image
    http://webforum.research.digital.com/innovators/public/unix-server-sizer/
icons/main4.gif which has an option to go to the actual Sizer/Calculator
    with a link of
    http://webforum.research.digital.com/cgi-bin/innovators/unix-server-sizer
.This does not take you to the sizer at that page (that used to
calculate it for you) but back to the page from which you start at
    http://webforum.research.digital.com/innovators/public/unix-server-sizer/
     .

The question I have is - is the Server Sizer still available and there
is just a mixup in the web pointer or is it no longer available or is
it under repair ?. If the middle option is the case, the pages should be
modified so that the impression that it is still available is corrected.
I have a "sizing" meeting with this local BP next Tuesday, so I'd
appreciate knowing a little more before I meet with them.

    Thanks
