4607.0. "Netscape Mail Server: Return-Path is always root" by MIPSBX::"[email protected]" (Seung-Joo Lee) Mon Apr 14 1997 12:09

I installed Netscape Mail Server 2.0 on customer's
UNIX4.0B AS4100.

My problem is;
- when /usr/local/bin/elm, /bin/mail & /bin/mailx clients:
  Return-Path & From is always [email protected]
  So, nobody who receive the mail know the sender and
  reply proper person.
- but, /usr/local/bin/pine is Ok.

Is there anyone who has this experience?

The problem I sent was resolved.
The permission of netscape mail server file had the wrong info.
That was r-s--x--x root mta /usr/sbin/sendmail.
It should be r-x--x--x root mta /usr/sbin/sendmail.
When the sendmail has the setuid of root it sets "From" address to root.
