4592.0. "inn expire takes long time to run" by CSC32::GLAUNER () Sat Apr 05 1997 16:49

IAS V2.0 and Dunix V4.0. Customer installed inn ands
was using the defaults, once his news was taking up
%60 then the program that does the expire takes 24 hours
to run and it does not delete all the files it should.
Because of this problem he set some news groups to have
a remember history of 1 day to keep it under %60.
Is there a bug on why when news daily wrapper runs expire
and his news is over %60 full that it takes so long to run?

    Thanks for any info
    Ray

I bet you're using UFS and have a fairly decent amount of memory
(half-Gig or better). If so, there is an issue with vm and UFS
flooding which dUNIX engineering is working on currently for V4.x
dUNIX. It doesn't appear to be nearly as bad with V3.x releases.
Currently (if it's the same thing I've seen) the only workaround is
downgrade to V3.2g (plus patches).
