4586.0. "Network Topology" by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Dale Pondysh) Tue Apr 01 1997 11:25

I would appreciate it very much if someone could explain the connection
I make to DIGITAL1 domain. I'm a remote Field Service Eng. and I tunnel,
in through my local internet service provider through a firewall to the
tunnel server at either DAS( which seems to have a broken key, RSA ring
file???) or ALF. At this point I can telnet to internal VMS systems, (ex.
neacs.das.dec.com) but don't know whether I am on the DIGITAL1 domain.
Any light that can be shed on this connection and authentication process
would appreciated. Also is there a tunnel conference I can look into to
resolve this RSA ring file problem. Thank you.

You are not authorized on the DIGITAL1 domain because you didn't
dial into a RAS server. However, if you make a connection to
mount disks or use a printer or connect to your Exchange
server, you can use your DIGITAL1 credentials.

When you connect to a printer or file share, in the Connect As
box, put in DIGITAL1\username and provide your password.

When connecting to your Exchange account, you'll be prompted
	for the information.

Make sure you use the Corporate WINS servers so you can find
the systems you need to find.

4586.2try tunnel FAQ for informationPARZVL::ogodhcp-125-112-212.ogo.dec.com::kennedynuncam non paratusWed Apr 02 1997 19:3510
Sorry there's no internal tunnel conference right now.

Try the FAQ pages at
 http://www.imc.das.dec.com/imcdocs/tunfaq.htm

for an explanation of how to configure WINS
servers, etc.

(you can even call the Helpdesk for tunnel
problems)
