I believe that the AVForum group still have a problem with this.
What version of AVForum are you running? Also try installing IE 3.02
and see if this makes any difference.

No it does not work with 3.02. The problem any way is easy to locate.
The server check if the Browser support upload or not, so we see the pointer
to the help program with IE 2.0 and not with Netscape. It looks like it confuse
the Browser name of IE 3.0x reading Mozilla is not enough! If they set the MIME
Types for IExplorer then it's done! I don't know what is exactly the response
of IExplorer 3.0x but it is easy to find.

Hope that can help!

Let's back up a bit. If you want help on this you also need to supply
information. What hardware and O/S is AVForum running on? What Web server
and version is being used. What version of AVForum is being used? What
type of document is being uploaded. What do you expect the MIME type to be?
What MIME type is defined in the Web server for that type of document?
What EXACTLY is the error you get when using IE?

Here we go ...
The problem is the same with IIS(2.0, 3.0) and with Netscape Server 2.0.
AVF is the new version (2.0a)

The error we get is :

The AltaVista Forum Error Handler

The AltaVista Forum software has detected a problem it could not properly handle

Error is: Unable to determine uploaded filename..

I have this successfully working with MS-IIS that comes with WinNT 4.0.

Did you follow the instructions in the on-line Help?

    Help on Uploading Files

    Table of contents
     Uploading Files
Installing and Using the AltaVista Forum Upload Application
Defining the Upload Application as a Helper Application in Your
     Browser

I followed these instructions and am successful in uploading documents
    in Forum 2.0a.

    	Regards,
