4532.0. "Setting up a maillist server" by WOTVAX::HILTON (Save Water, drink beer) Tue Mar 11 1997 04:40

I subscribe to an internet mailing list, which is run from a university
    campus.

The guy who runs it is leaving the university, hence they are looking
    for a new host.

I found info on majordomo, but it cost's money. Are there any ways of
    getting 'free' list servers?

Do any of the Compuserve, MSN, AOL etc groups offer this kind of
service to their members? Any other ideas from anyone?

    Cheers,

Majordomo is freeware. IMHO, SmartList is a better mailing list manager,
and that too is freeware. Both run on almost any UNIX platform.

You may want to ask your local ISP if they will host a mailing list for you.
I've never heard of any of the "big three" hosting a user's mailing list.

suppose there is any Digital machines I could use????
