4507.0. "Webtrends" by CIM2NI::CROSBY () Wed Feb 26 1997 09:42

I am running into some interesting problems on my external server with this
product. I have just upgraded from Website on NT3.51WS to IIS on NT4.0 server.

While this is a non-digital application, I am evaluating the configuration for
an intranet using ASP here in Digital Semi.

Anyway, we are having a devil of a time setting security to logs and individual
reports using WebTrends.

Assigning Uname/Pwords seems simple enough, but we can't access the logs, we
keep getting authorization failure messages.

Does anyone have any experience with the product? At this point, I'm not
sure what the proper questions are, let alone the answers.

Thanks,

With my very limited experience using IIS... You can't use the html
version of the server manager from the machine that the server is on.
Also it appears that to use the HTML version of the server manager from
another machine you must use an account name other than administrator
(machine thinks: administrator is running on the server machine, how
can administrator be on another machine). Go into the Administrative
tools section and set up a user (name/password) then add that user to
the group "administrators". This user should now be able to access the
    server from a remote computer.

I cannot guarantee that this is correct, but it is what I have
    experienced. Hope it helps
