4472.0. "Microsoft Internal Mail "Leave on Server Option"" by IPNG::CARSON (Pete Carson, Networks for OpenVMS Engineering) Thu Feb 13 1997 11:12

I've recently installed Windows NT 4.0 and pulled
down Internet Mail & News from www.microsoft.com.
I'd previously had what I think was a field test of
this (that did not act as the Inbox). With that
version it was possible to click "Leave on Server"
and the POP client would send the right message
so that my mail would not be deleted on my server.

I can't figure out how to set that with the new
Internet Mail. I can't believe they'd remove this
capability. I like this better than netscape mail but
would need to go back to using netscape if they don't
have this. Anyone know how to set this?

Its under the menu option 'Mail-->Options'

Select the tab 'Server' then the pushbutton 'Advanced Options'
then the checkbox 'Leave a copy of mail on the Server.'

	Thanks,

I now understand my confusion... to a point.
I wasn't running Internet Mail directly but using
it through Windows Messaging. I run Internet Mail
directly (and am now getting Access Violations from every
network utility I'm running) and set it but it doesn't
seem to affect when I use Internet Mail as an Windows
	Messaging Service.

RE: .2

The Netscape Internet Mail service for Windows Messaging
has a "leave on server" checkbox.
