I'm able to get past the install and things sort of, kind of work.
However, it's not usable if you have soft links for the pages or
if your page has a name other than the same as the directory.

I keep getting "transfer interupted", or with soft links, "document
has no data".

I'm on a V3.0 DUNIX using the Apache server. Has anybody gotten this
to work???? liesl

Well, I've just deinstalled and reinstalled and now I get a bit
further. I must have had something configured incorrectly. The
browsers now work again. But I still can't publish or pull from
Frontpage. I get a pop-up with a server error on the frontpage end.
The error_log of the server shows nothing, the access_log shows my
attempt with a message 200 (document follows) which is good.

Plain old ftp is looking better all the time. liesl
4389.14I have fp extensions on DUNIX...LNKUGL::D_HOHMSacred cows make great steaksFri Mar 07 1997 18:299
Liesl,

I do have the the frontpage extensions working on a DUNIX Apache server
here and it works fine (except I can't recalculate links if I have the
altavista forum directory linked under htdocs). I'm not sure I understand
what troubles you're having, but if you want to try things on my system
as a reference point, send me mail and/or stop by.

Dale, thanks, I'll stop by tomorrow. I've gotten to the point
where I reach the server but then get a privilege error. So far
this has been very frustrating. We did get this working on an NT
server though. liesl
4389.16Any help ?RTOMS::HUEBNERSwww.muc.de/~shMon Apr 28 1997 11:0123
I can't get the FP Server Extensions to work.

I copied the newest kit and hab no problems during Installation,
but when I try to connect with FP97, I get a small message box:
"Problem with Server Extensions, contact Web-Administrator".

The error-log is empty, this is in access-log:

    "GET /_vti_inf.html HTTP/1.0" 200 1819
    "POST /_vti_bin/shtml.exe/_vti_rpc HTTP/1.0" 200 11

On my client I have the following info in the nt4-eventlog:

    Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:
Error #40006 Message: RPC-Syntaxerror: "RPC header" from ""
    was expected, but got "<HTML>??de

This happens with DEC Unix 3.2c and Netscape Enterprise Server 2.01

    Stefan.
4389.17not the same but...DSNENG::KOLBEWicked Wench of the WebMon Apr 28 1997 12:488
I don't know about this particular error but I had one hell of
time getting FP extentions to work. One thing I ended up doing
was making my account own all the http directories and be the
one running the server.

Another thing I saw happen. I had an MS word doc file in one of
my FP webs. FP broke everytime I tried to publish that web and
told me I had server problems. liesl
