Well, since altavista allows "and"-style searching, can't you do something
like this:

	+rec.games.go +yosumiru

which would find all articles containing both "yosumiru" and "rec.game.go"
which would for most practical purposes find only articles in the rec.games.go
newsgroup that contain yosumiru ?

You should could also be able to use:

	    +url:rec.games.go +yosumiru

which would ensure it's within a given newsgroup and not simply
a reference in the content of another newsgroup.

No we sell the AV product that allows the search of newsgroups? I've
seen the "serch the Intranet" product but don't remember a news
    option.

I have a customer who would like to buy it!

Look at the pull-down menus in the sentence:

Search [the Web] and Display the Results [in Standard Form]
[Usenet ] [in Compact Form ]
               		                         [in Detailed Form]
               		                         [as a Count only ]
