I installed V1.1 clusters on Intel (prioris) boxes running NT4.0 with SP3. Everything seems to work as far as failover goes. HOWEVER...I can create failover groups only from the console of the system I want to be the primary. When I get to the screen where you specify which system will be primary, the pulldown box that allows you to choose the owner has only the name of the system you are working on. I can't create a failover group on system A that will have a primary server as system B from the console of system A. I can't create a failover group on system B that will have a primary server as system A from the console of system B. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the cluster software twice. I even let the second system discover the cluster and the first system during the install to make sure the two were communicating, There is nothing in the event logs or any of the files the troubleshooting suggestions and the groups can be manually and automatically failed over and returned. Is this a SP3 expected behavior? Wait for Wolfpack?

The up/down arrows on the "Primary Server" selection box are very tiny. After you select the drop-down arrow on the "primary server" box, try positioning your mouse pointer on one of the two parallel bars that appear on the right side of the box. You should be able to select either server this way. |
