Hi, I have two AlphaServer 1000A connected as Cluster with NT 4.0 Server with Cluster v1.1 and SQL Server running.I have a Client PC running Windows95 with the SQL Client and Cluster Client loaded. If I were to activate my SQL Client ISQL_w on either one of the Server, and do the following configuration with: Server: database1 DLL: dbnmpntw.dll Connection String: \\NT_Cluster1\pipe\wilmadisks\query and Server: database2 DLL: dbnmpntw.dll Connection String: \\NT_Cluster1\pipe\bettydisk\query I have no problems on connecting to either database. But if I were to do this on my Client PC running Windows95 with the only differences in the DLL: dbnmp3.dll, it does not allow me to connect to the Server. Does anyone know why I can't connect to the cluster when using a PC ? Please advise. Thanks.

828.1 | Try TCP/IP instead of Named Pipes? | DECWET::CAPPELLOF | My other brain is a polymer | Tue May 27 1997 18:05 | 5 |
If your Windows 95 client system uses TCP/IP, try configuring TCP/IP connections instead of Named Pipes connections for your client systems. See my description in note 783.3. I forget the name of the TCP/IP connection DLL for Windows 95, but I'm sure it's in our NT Cluster documentation. |
