820.0. "Three (3) columns in Cluster Monitor" by SLICER::ROD (Paradise Awaits!) Wed May 21 1997 06:10

We received a cluster configuration yesterday for demo at a show, a
4100 and 4000 in racks, I believe running 1.1. Everything seems fine
from the 4100, but from the 4000, the Cluster Monitor show 3 columns.
    Something like this..

                     4100 4000 4100

    group1 DOWN (blank) date/time
    group2 DOWN (blank) date/time

Lotus is running on each, and from the 4100, I can manually failover
group1 and group2 back and forth between the 4000 and the 4100. On the
4100, Cluster Monitor correctly displays the status of both groups. On
the 4000, it never seems to change.

My guess is something is misconfigured on the 4000, but what? I'm not
a cluster expert (my expert Tim is at DECUS). Thanks in advance for
    your help.

820.1Should only see 2 nodesDECWET::CAPPELLOFMy other brain is a polymerThu May 22 1997 12:3313
yes, there is definitely something misconfigured on the 4000. The
Cluster Monitor should only show 2 columns - one for each server in the
    cluster.

Did you install the cluster software yourself, or was it installed when
    you got the servers?

On the 4000, you could check the NT registry for strange settings. In
    particular, look at
    Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cfmd\Database\Nodes

Do you see 2 or 3 nodes listed? You should only see 2. I don't have a
clue why you would see otherwise.
