807.0. "Client can't access Shares via TCP/IP" by NNTPD::"[email protected]" (Tsvika Lavie) Thu May 15 1997 02:43

Hello ,

My customer has a problem with his Digital Cluster,
The current Versions of his Cluster component is:

The servers:
NT 3.51 sp5
NT Cluster 1.0 sp1 + Hotfixes

The clients:
Windows 95
NT cluster 1.0 sp2

For the moment I cant upgrade the servers to sp2 , they may give me the
system next week..

Recently we have problem connecting to the Cluster shares via Tcp/ip,
when the problem ecures Im examining the Netbios cache entries from the
client and I see that the Cluster entry <DC> is pointing to the machine
that doesnt Hold the resource...
And for that reason it cant access the share and gives an network error. It is
intermitted problem and some times it takes on of the systems and some times
it takes the other.

Can someone explain me how this mechanism should work ?

Does the reason that Im using a different version of NT Cluster versions
between the clients and the servers causing the problem?

I'll appreciate some help here.

Thanks
Tsvika Lavie
