806.0. "dac960 error on system hang" by TOPTEN::AVERBACH () Wed May 14 1997 20:59
I have a customer running NT 3.51 on an Alphaserver 2100 4/233, the
system has hung on him a few times in the past month. They only thing
he can do is power cycle it (according to him). The event viewer shows
an event with the source being dac960nt and the description is:
"The device, \Device\ScsiPort3, did not respond within the timeout
period"
I know enough to figure that we are talking about a swxcr due to
the source being a DAC960. The system has 2, KZPSC-BA's. When the error
says "Scsiport3" what does that mean. I am assuming that it is
referring to the 2nd of the 2 KZPSC's, when I do a display hardware
configuration from the supplementary menu it shows /scsi0,/scsi1 and
/scsi2. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

806.1 | What is the cluster question? | DECWET::CAPPELLOF | My other brain is a polymer | Fri May 16 1997 10:11 | 6 |
| Do the systems have a different SCSI controller card for cluster shared
SCSI busses? NT Clusters does not support the dac960nt (Mylex)
controller for shared storage.
Or maybe your question is not related to clusters at all, and belongs
in the DECWET::WINDOWS-NT conference instead?
