Hi.
I have a customer running Quota Manager from NTP software version 2.6.1.
They are running this on two clustered Prioris servers running clusters 1.0 SP2
and 3.5-1 SP5 of the operating
system.
They experienced problem with heavy disk activity when trying to put quotas on
the shared storage. Does anyone
have this software running successfully?
Thanks,
Vickie

Talking to Pat or Al at Fingerhut, right, Vickie? I have also been
talking with them. I recommended that they try a couple of tests
to see if Quota Manager doesn't like so many users coming in with the
same user id. All users are accessing the share via the Guest acct.
They are trying a couple tests around that as well as a couple things
recommended by NTP.
I, too, would like to know if anyone else is running Quota Manager,
just so I can try to assuage some of their fears. This is a touchy
situation with this Prioris cluster because we have had nothing but
problems with it since it went in. They were using the Proteon
Token Ring card. This would hang the system as it came from the
factory because a BIOS setting was set wrong from the factory. MCS
would replace the processor board, that happened to have the BIOS
setting in the opposite manner, and it would work fine. Fingerhut
had 5 Prioris systems that this happened to until engineering finally
figured out what was happening. Some of these problems were able to
be hidden from management (we have a good inside person), but this
particular system was a corporate system; so anytime anything goes
wrong, it gets high visibility. Happily, they haven't had any problems
with the Alpha clusters they have installed, and now that we know what
the problem is, we won't have the problem with the Prioris clusters.
Thanks for any insight anyone might have to Quota Manager.
