Hi, Is there a limit on how many fileShares a Windows 95 NT Cluster client can see via the broswer? A customer has 256 shares setup on the cluster and the WIN95 cluster client (all their clients, not just one) only shows about 75 available via the Cluster Client browser. The client can see all of the shares using lanman and looking at the specific server. Any clue as to why this is happening? Thanks, Johnny Mac

755.1 | Enhancement needed for Windows client | CSC32::SCHMALSTIEG | Fri Apr 25 1997 14:12 | 9
It seems that the Windows 95 client needs an enhancement, this was determined by a IPMT elevation. The recommended workaround is to use IP failover. IP failover for file shares is in field test at the moment and will be available in late May.
755.2 | Engineering is investigating | CSC32::V_STROUD | Mon May 05 1997 13:35 | 11
Engineering is investigating. The suggested workaround however, is to use the NetBT file share access that is available with 1.1 SP1 available with SP3 for 4.0. This will not require a client piece of software and the changes in the Operating system in SP3 will allow the browsing of these shares. If a change is made to the client, we will try and update it here. Vickie |
