    Big Cluster article in latest InformationWeek. Reference:

    DIGITAL is not even mentioned in entire article. We appear to be
    out in the cold as far as marketing our NT Cluster capabiilities.
    This article must have been written with Tandem input, but ???
    
    Could it be that at the official DIGITAL Windows home page there
    is not a single reference to NT Clusters or Alpha ? Nice picture
    of a laptop and monkey though :-( 
    
    OK, so lets play as a Customer trying to find out info on DIGITAL's
    NT Clusters. Go to www.windows.digital.com - no pointer. Ok, guess
    at Products button - good guess. Now, the Cust see's press release
    announcing DIGITALs V1.0 SP1 software press release (no mention of
    V1.1 at all on page)... Did we not release a press release on V1.1?
    If so, why is not here?
    
    This is what the market is hearing more and more now ie. quote
    from article:
    
    "Microsoft is attempting to develop standards in operating system 
    support through the Wolfpack technology. Using code it licensed 
    from Tandem, Microsoft is extending Windows NT to support 
    clustering. Wolfpack Phase I is scheduled for release this summer."
    
    In addition, the following negaitive comment about Clustering in
    general:
    
    "A significant negative aspect to clustering is that all clusters now
    shipping are proprietary in both hardware and software, resulting in
    relatively high cost and a limited number of applications written for 
    those proprietary platforms. "
    
    I still believe we should take the high road and support some 3rd
    party vendor systems other than our own, but that issue has been
    beaten to death before ..sigh.. we continue to have a proprietary
    product just like the others ..
    
    My apologies if this appeared negative, but it's really frustrating
    from a field perspective to know you have good products, but then 
    not see any marketing to support them.

	it's probably safe to say that you are preaching to the Choir on this. I was looking for some information on support disk drives and found the list I has was more updated then the one on our web page. I guess our web page must not get much traffic, thus we see no need to update ? My .02 Dale

	I believe the Sorageworks pages have more information on Digital Clusters for WNT. re .0, I would send an email to Information week, asking them to refer to articles on Clusters / Wolfpack on Windows NT Magazine August 1996 issue. (Also telling them that we do have clustering products, and tell them that we are working closely with Microsoft on the Wolfpack team, they may also refer to the Wolfpack team blah blah blah ... - Murali

	Well, good news, bad news on NT Cluster marketing update.. Good news is that NT Clusters V1.1 is mentioned in the "hot flash" on DIGITAL's home page..Also, Alpha word finally appears on on our Cust windows home page.. (www.windows.digital.com) Bad news is that previous V1.1 info on DIGITAL home page has a "click here for additional details" and it brings the reader to the NT Cluster home page which only has Nt cluster 1.0 + SP info .. oh well.. :-( / Kerry

	Update - the DIGITAL windows page (www.windows.digital.com) now has the NT Cluster V1.1 announcement and a pointer to the UPDATED Windows NT cluster page .. looking much better now - can't believe it, but PCBU actually allowed the Alpha word on it's NT / Windows home page ! Thx to those responsible for the update.. just sent a few CompuServe types at the updated page. :-) Regards, / Kerry
