Donna,
Here's the mail I got from the Customer, any help would be appreciated as I have been trying to solve this one for a couple
of months now.
Cheers

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our setup consists of a Windows NT Cluster with Windows 95 clients.
Users are configured so that they have a home area that is connected
to the H: drive when they logon to Windows 95. To recreate this create
a user in User Manager on Windows NT and in the profile screen set the
home area to point to a share on the NT cluster eg \\ntserver1\msmith$.
Also set the drive letter to connect to H:.
The drive is connect by using a login script. Our script basically contains
a line "NET USE \\NTSERVER1\MSMITH$".
Within the users home area there are a couple of folders that contain the
profile information for that user. One is called Desktop (this contains
icons that appear on the users desktop) and the other is called Start Menu
(this contains all of the shortcuts that go to build up the users Start
Menu). For instance in the start folder we have the MS-Office icons etc.
To enable profiles on the 95 clients start Control PanelPasswordsUser
Profiles Tab and select "Users can customize the preference and desktop".
In the User Profiles Setting box (which is on the same screen) select both
the Desktop and Start Menu tick boxes.
The process should be as follows. The user logs in. The logon script connects
the H: drive up. 95 then looks in the home area for the user for their profile.
It copies the Start Menu and Desktop folders from the home area to the local
drive (C:\Windows\Profiles\<username>) thus updating any new icons or
removing others that are no longer needed.
This process works fine without Digital Cluster Client for 95 loaded. When it
is loaded the copying process is not carried out. This means that new icons
are not copied and even worse if a new user logs on they get no Start Menu
icons except for the Windows defaults.
Hope this description is enough to get you started. Please give me a call
if you need further info.
Thanks
