706.0. "Wolfpack delayed?!?!" by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Bjrn Uddal) Fri Mar 21 1997 05:36

Hi

Just got todays copy of the Norwegian PC World Express magazine, and there's
an article named: Wolfpack delayed

It says in the article that Microsoft Wolfpack which should be ready in the
summer this year, will be delayed untill december, or even till early next
year.
The reason is that it simply doesn't work!

Can anyone in our Cluster management/engineering group comment on this?

If this is true, we will have a very competitive advantage also for the next
8-9 months, when fighting against Compaq, HP, IBM etc. All waiting for
Wolfpack!!!!

cheers
Bjrn

706.1Wolfpack come early !NETRIX::"[email protected]"HKTSFri Mar 21 1997 13:0018
Hi,

I'm from presales instead of engineering group. I've tried wolfpack
beta with a Microsoft technical support 2 weeks ago.

In fact, wolfpack phase I is very competitive with our v1.1. I found
that wolfpack is more complex than ours during installation and
configuration but failover faster.

Besides, I also heard that Wolfpack will release earlier in May just
one month after ours v1.1.

Anyway, you'll see if you've played with wolfpack.

:>

As at the NT Wizards Symposium, there was no delay
    announced/mentioned.

Would appreciate Salley Anderson / Diane Loomis to comment on this ...
