699.0. "Again: Which API do we support?" by RTOMS::RTOWTE::reuss (sigan me los buenos) Wed Mar 19 1997 03:53

Hello all,

can somebody clarify the status of our API? After
reading the topics 116 and 570 I'm a little confused
about the status. Do we have a own api today, will
we support WP api, if yes when will we do so?

Sorry for positing a new topic but the discussion in 570
suddenly stoped at the most interesting point :-(

	Thanks in advance

	...Werner

699.1Wolpack APIs on a Wolfpack baseDECWET::CAPPELLOFMy other brain is a polymerWed Mar 19 1997 14:1114
Note 570 had all the information.

We do NOT have our own public Digital Clusters API today, and we do not
plan to release an API for Digital Clusters.

As I said in 570, Digital plans to move to use Wolfpack as our base
clustering functionality, and Wolfpack has some fine APIs for
application developers to use. We plan to use Wolfpack APIs ourselves
to develop add-on functionality for WOlfpack that we call
    "WolfpackPlus" or "ClustersPlus".

The message is clear - Digital will support Wolfpack APIs based on the
Wolfpack product. We will not add Wolfpack APIs to "Digital Clusters
for Windows NT" because that product base will disappear someday.
