694.0. "Need explanation for event log warning from CluCis, Listener - refusing connection" by CSC32::G_OGLESBY (Ginny Oglesby 592-4731 CSC/CS) Mon Mar 17 1997 17:48

My customer added a 2nd private network to his ntcluster, 1.0sp1. The cluster
is working fine, but he notices the following error in the Application
Event Viewer:

CluCis	Warning	None	304	N/A	ALPHA2	Listener - refusing connection from
"ALPHA1 \xDA".

Alpha1 is up and running, and he sees the warning, 3x, on Alpha2 on startup.

What does CluCis refer to? Can some present a scenario that would cause
these errors?

He does not recall these errors prior to adding the private network.

Thanks,
Ginny Oglesby

CluCis is the Cluster Connection Infrastructure. Basically the part of
Digital Clusters that runs the heartbeat between the two machines.
CluCis tries to connect between both machines on all possible
transports. When you add a second NIC, connection attempts start on
that NIC as well as the original one.

The customer can ignore the message. We'll research why it might be
    occurring.

Hi Carl,

I noticed this one as well yesterday. This was on my test system running V1.1 release of clusters with
NT4 SP2.

On one machine it takes about 5 mins for the cluster administrator to start (it shows the window with the moving bar
and stops for 5 mins towards the end of the bar when it is talking to the CFMD)
