651.0. "NT Cluster support NT 3.51 Chinese version?" by TPOMC2::DAVIDHSIEH () Mon Feb 24 1997 01:09

    Hi,

Does anyone have the experience about using NT Cluster V1.0a with
Windows NT V3.51 (Traditional Chinese version) successfully?
We can do it with Windows NT V3.51 (english version).

Our system is two sable system with KZPSA connected with RAID 410.

Can some expertise help to verify this configuration is right? Thanks
    in advance.

Cluster 1.0a is not a released version. I was only used for a NT 4.0
demo. Do not use this revision for anything. V1.1 supports NT 4.0
and V1.0 with service pack 1 or 2 supports NT 3.51

    Thanks for replying quickly.

Do you have tested it under NT V3.51 Chinese version? If you mean it
please confirm it. We see the Cluster CD is buddleed with CLUSP1 and
CLUST and SP5 for NT3.51 and the title is V1.0a, are we right?

How about the V1.1 chinese version? can it work under NT chinese
version? Can you post more detail information about your testing
    environment.

    Thanks a lot.

You must have an early Beta CD. You do not want to use it. For
3.51 V1.0 with service pack 1 has been released for some time now.
V1.1 will be released in a week or so for NT 4.0. Digital Clusters
has only been tested with English Versions of NT. Also accounts must use
english characters.

We must have the chinese version in Taiwan market. Have any schedule
or plan about the Chinese version for NT cluster? Thanks.

Yes. We have tried NT cluster on Chinese NT 3.51 version. It can work on
Intel-base system but not not on Alpha-base.

    The following is our configuration:
    Hardware Configuration:

            Sable 2100/KZPSA/864MB RAM
            Alpha 1000A/500 KZPSA/320MB RAM
    	    RAID 410

    Software Configuration:

Windows NT V3.51 Chinese version with Service Pack 5
Digital Cluster for Windows NT V1.0
Service pack 1 for NT cluster
    	    KZPSA driver and HSZDISK driver

    Problem symptom:

The system services can't start after installing the NT
cluster. (incluse RPC server and many system services)

    Problem description:

We install the NT cluster on both systems following the manual
requirement and we can join the second system to first one successfully.

After rebooting the first system and occurs the 'service.exe'
running error due to access the invalid memory area to 'read'. When we
try to login on the console and overall system performance is very
poor and we can't run the service on the control panel or the event
    viewer...

We do another testing under Windows NT V3.51 english version
with SP5, it works very fine. It seems the NT cluster can't run under
Chinese version. We have installed NT cluster software on Chinese NT
3.51 on thr Intel (prioris server) successfully. It seems the alpha
    has some problems.
