Yesterday while playing with MS Wolfpack Cluster together with the excalation engineer from MS Germany for NT, he told me that the issue of creating mixed architecture clusters (size of pages of transaction log file on disk) has been fixed for NT V4.0. He said it will work IF the disk have been formatted under NT V4.0. He also said that this is the reason why disks formatted under NT 4.0 can not be read on V3.51. Can someone confirm this? thomas

606.1 | No mixing of Alpha and Intel sharing NTFS | DECWET::CAPPELLOF | My other brain is a polymer | Fri Feb 07 1997 16:17 | 5 |
I sent your question to the Clusters and Filesystem engineers at Microsoft. The rumor IS NOT TRUE! You still cannot mix Alpha and Intel systems sharing the same disk with an NTFS filesystem. This comes straight from the engineers that write the code, so I think you can believe it. |
