My understanding is that 1.1 WNT Clusters will require 4.0 WNT SP2. Will 1.1 be supported with 3.51 WNT? Case in point -- right now 4.0 WNT is NOT supported on Alpha 4100s (there have been engineering blitzes). So, my customer is very concerned about the viability of testing 1.1 on 4.0 WNT on their 4100s. Could someone clarify which versions are supported with which versions? Thanks. Mary Jo

> My understanding is that 1.1 WNT Clusters will require 4.0 WNT SP2. Yup > Will 1.1 be supported with 3.51 WNT? Not exactly. There's a new service pack that will be introduced which will provide some of the benefits and all of the bug fixes that V1.1 comprises. The notably exception is IP failover support. > Case in point -- right now 4.0 WNT is NOT supported on Alpha 4100s > (there have been engineering blitzes). Look for a "hot fix" by Microsoft in the very near future. > Could someone clarify which versions are supported with which versions? Windows NT 3.51 (SP5) supports ... NT Clusters V1.0 ... NT Clusters V1.0 + SP1 ... NT Clusters V1.0 + SP2 (SSB release next month) Windows NT 4.0 (SP2) supports ... NT CLusters V1.1 (SSB release next month) | |||||

Just a follow on from the last notes... Do we know if there will be a NT 3.51 client for Version 1.1 or visa versa a V4 client for V1.0 (+service packs). My problem is that we have current NT cluster customers that are stuck with NT 3.51 for some of his servers for the near future, and they would like to take advantage of the latest releases. Also another customer has rolled out NT 3.51 clients to all of his (400) desk tops, and is looking at how he will migrate to the V1.1 cluster software (with all the new functionality). Any Ideas....?
