598.0. "Any RAIDArray 310 based Alpha/NT clusters?" by IJSAPL::ONDERWATER (Cor Onderwater @UTO) Tue Feb 04 1997 16:42

    Hi,

Does anyone know of a working Digital WNT cluster with the following
    components?

    	2* Alphaserver 4100
    	1* RAIDArray 310

I ask this question because of the problem mentioned in note 590. So
far I have not been able to detect any such configuration. Have we sold
Alpha 4100 clusters with a RAIDArray 310? If there is any working
cluster of this kind I would like to know the configuration details.

Are there any (known) RAIDArray 410 based AlphaServer 4100 clusters
known? Again I would like to know about the exact configuration.

How about RAIDarray 410 and AlphaServer 4000s instead of 4100s?
I have a customer with at least one. They are going to be
installing more, and I don't recall right now if they have gotten
their second one in. Standard configuration right out of the
SUPPORT.DOC. Same customer also has Prioris and RAIDarray 310
systems. Only difference between Intel-based and Alpha-based is the
	SCSI adapter.

There's numerous installations using SW310s and SW410s running
       on Alpha platforms.

The caveat with the AlphaServer 4x00 is that you currently
can not run Windows NT 4.0. See note 394.* in the
alphaserver_4100 notes conference for more infomation on
       this problem.

In the meantime, NT 3.51 +SP5 with NT clusters V1.0+SP1 using
any StorageWorks RAID product listed in support.doc, plus
HSZDISK V2.51, is the only suupported configuration on the
       Alpha 4x00 platforms.
