Did anyone catch the "Bye Bye Birdie" special
last night. Since there was so much changed
from the 1960's movie, I was wondering if
it was more like the stage production.
I personally didn't like this version. The
stand outs were Vanessa Williams and Jason
Alexander but other than that I wasn't
too impressed. The basic storyline was
there but everything else was changed plus
adding a few new songs.
I thought person playing Conrad Birdie was
a dud along with the actor playing Hugo.
George Wendt was terrible (I miss Paul
Lynde doing the part) never mind Chyna
Phillips (sp?).
All in all, I wished I had watched
"The Player" on TNT.

I did not see it but too bad the actor playing Conrad was
bad...He is absolutely fantastic in the Broadway production
of Beauty and the Beast..He is Gaston...It was the only
reason I might have put it on..
