371.0. "The Simpsons" by FUTURS::BURRELL (Live long/prosper-live short/enjoy) Fri Jul 07 1995 06:26

I'm surprised that there's no note in this conference for
"The Simsons".

Purile fun for the whole family! :-)

So who dou *you* think shot Mister Burns?

I think it was Burns himself - he saw the baby with the candy down the
alley - tried to grab the candy (hence the "Give me that" comment) and
in the struggle either he shot himself, or the baby shot him!

My money's on Santa's Little helper (remember seeing the empty cigar
box dug up in the back garden...)

It occurs to me that people on the other side of pond must have seen
this episode many moons ago, and also the concluding episode. Therefore
they must know whodunnit!

If this is the case, please tell me, because I have no patience, and
cannot wait until September.

Thanks in advance

Burns' gun wasn't in his shoulder holster when he fell. It could be
either /dog/maggie/burns. He couldn't struggle long with anyone other
than the dog or maggie.

I think there is a contest of some sort, but haven't heard any more
info on it.

As I understand it, there is in fact a contest involved. Apparently, if
can guess who the evil culprit is, and send your name in to the proper
authorities by the appropriate deadline, you will be guest starring in
a new episode of the Simpson's! They will actually bring you to the
studio and have your likeness imbued into a character with lines and
all.

Pretty cool, eh?

Dave S.

P.S. Unfortunately, I do not know who these authorities are as my
roomates are idiots and managed to misprogram the vcr. Trust me, they
WILL pay !

Barbara?

It definitely sounded like the voice of Flanders doing George Bush. I
didn't figure out who did Barbara. There was 1 female name in the credits
that was new to me. I bet that was Barbara. All the rest were "regulars".

None of us taped the show on Sunday.
If it's any consolation, it wasn't an hour-long episode, only 1/2 hour.
It was on the Montreal channel this evening, but I suppose you didn't
catch it......
It was pretty funny, especially when Apu was wearing that 10 gallon hat
and trying to talk like a Texan. Funny stuff.

Is there a question you'll ask me that I won't know the answer to?!?!
8)

Selma has been married the most.
to Side show Bob Terwilliger.
to Lionel Hutz.
to Troy McClure.
thus her name is Selma Bouvier-Terwilliger-Hutz-McClure.

Man that was soooooo easy.......

Here's one for you:
What was Maggie's first word(s) and who was the guest voice.

Maggies first word was "Daddy"!

Her first "thoughts" we were able to hear was "It's your fault I can't
talk!"

Mystery voice?!?! Of which episode...and do you mean Maggies voice?

The only reason why you nail all of these is cause you've got Pete,
Mike and Ricky to help ya out with the answers!

Name me at least ten different guest appearences on the Simpsons!
(names or characters they've portrayed are O.K....Side SHow Bob doesn't
count<Kelsy Grahmer>)

Actually, I get all the answers from the Web pages. 8))

Elizabeth Taylor did Maggies voice when she said her first words.
(according to the web site, 'Daddy' was her first word)

I'm not gonna bother listing ten differant guest voices.

The first one was either Patty or Selma when Homer was writing a
good-bye note to Marge.
The second one was the cop that stopped Homer and Barney after being at
the Duff brewery.
No idea of the third one.

Very nicely done!!
WOW, I stumped the Lyle man! impressive!!
The third one is courtesy Bart Simpson during a dinner conversation at
Rev.Lovejoy's house. Bart has a crush on the Rev's daughter, and is
invited over for supper and remarks this to Mrs.Lovejoy.

Here's one for the beginners:

I know, it's been a while but I figured we could fire this topic up
once again.

Just last week I saw an episoe where Marg and Homer decide to put Bart
in a millatary school for his behavior and Lisa wants to go too.
I loved the end when Bart was barking at his dad that he had been
trained in 7 different unarmed killing techniques. The way homer was
wincing away from him while he said this was hillarious!

And the opening was really good when bart says "testing" into the
megaphones all lined up and all the glass in the town shatters!

anything to add jay?

Keith
371.134Great show, hope we get another 3 seasons?POLAR::TYSICKPrying Open my Third EyeWed May 21 1997 11:5416
No!

Just Kidding!

Yep, it was a good one, too bad it'll be the last one for yet
another long summer. Thank Gawd for re-runs eh Keith?

The Megaphone thingy was classic pain in the arse Bart!

Or when Marge says to Lisa "Just call when you wanna come home."
Bart "I wanna come home!"

Jay
371.135Too bad lil'Mike not a die hard fan like us!POLAR::WAUCAUSHBANG!.....I'm Hit!Wed May 21 1997 14:2215
How long have he simpson been running now?

taking them to the dentist was pretty funny too! Or the looks on
everyone else's faces when Bart questions how come no one else was
packed for Disney Land.

HA!

some trivia Jay...

"you are Lisa Simpson"

who does it come from?

keith
371.136?POLAR::TYSICKPrying Open my Third EyeWed May 21 1997 15:3515
I think they're up to their 7th or 8th season!
It's written down somewhere in this file.

And ya stumped me on the Lisa thing. I wanna say Ralph Wiggum, but I
know that's not it?

Oh and Keith, this one isn't trivia, it's a question. In the X-Files
spin off they do, the Killer Whale that Moe is hidding out in the bar
makes a gurgling/groaning/moaning kinda sound. Do you recognize it
from anything? For some reason I think of "Jabber Jaws" that cartoon
shark by Hanna Barbera...but he could actually speak...???

Jay

ummmm I don't know! what ever it was it sure did'nt sound like a killer
whale. Pretty funny when Moe says "Aw geez, right in front of the
feds..."

"You are Lisa Simpson"
Comes from the episode where Lisa gets a substitute teacher for a few
days named Mr. Berkstrum.

He wrote it down on a piece of paper and told her when ever she felt
lonely and did'nt have anyone to read the peice of paper.

I was pleased to see they ran a whole hour of simpsons on Sunday night
rather than that sad excuse for a retarded cartoon "King of the hill"
"King of the hill" is as bout as funny as when you were a little kid
and you were on your bike, and you tried to hope up the curb. Only to
smash into the curb and go sailing groin first into the goose neck!

I would rather watch a whole Jerry Lee Lewis Easter telethon!

Yes, Jabberjaws could speak. He sounded like Curly of the Stooges,
methinks. I prefered "Mr. Jaws" myself (of the Pink Panther cartoons).

Mr. Berkstrum was voiced by Dustin Hoffman, to be trivial. :)

Thats an awesome bit of trivia! I'd put it on a resume!
you've got some trivia questions in here that I have'nt known. so
I'll crown you simpson god...one step up from the knighthood of sir
mikey D.

You probably even know when the first scratchy picture was drawn and
how much it sold for at the comic store.

Have no idea about the Scratchy picture, sorry.

The only reason I know about the other cartoons is because I watched
them as a kid. Caught up in the whole Jaws-mania. :)

You can catch them again on the Cartoon Network -- Jabberjaw is among
the regulars.
