| I was very enthusiastic about this (even tho I don't care for her
acting...long time ago saw her in a tv movie as a complete and utter
no talent ditzball and that was/is her style like nervous fidgity...
anyhow the impression stuck)
BUT I thought I'd give it a shot since I love all this high tech
stuff/sci-fi/X-Files/ anything that challenges the imagination...
Watched the premier last week...it was ok (David McCallum wow!
remember him (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.?) then saw it last nite
and I'm sitting there thinking this could get `old` fast....
But I'll probably watch it next week anyhow... jury is out on this for
now.....

| I liked the first show, missed the second. I know what you mean
about her style of acting. At first, I thought that was her
character, but I saw her interviewed and she is the exact same way
in real life. So far, I like it.

I happened to be home Friday night, so I watched this show ...
I liked it, mostly. I think I was expecting more VR than I
got, which explains the "mostly" opinion. The VR was good,
the rest of the show was good "filler".
I've only seen Lori Singer a couple times ... "Footloose" and
"Trouble in Mind" [?], and thought she did OK.

351.5 | Excellent show so far - I'll keep watching | TNPUBS::NAZZARO | UMass to the Final Four! | Wed Mar 22 1995 07:17 | 9 |
| Just watched the second episode on tape last night, and it was
terrific! Great visuals, excellent story line, wonderful bad
guys, and WIl Patton is terrific as a good guy/bad guy who acts both
mysteriously evil and your best friend. I've always liked his work,
and he is at his creepy best here.
Also, Lori Singer is proving to be a very good actress so far.

| You musta had Your glove and glasses on for this one. She Cannot
act in capital letters....but I have to agree.. Will Patton is
a very very good actor...(what the heck is he doing on this show?)
Even every time she crosses over, the effect is the same...can't
they vary the water bubbles a bit? I know I'm getting picky
cause I expected more, MUCH more....
Maybe it will improve as it goes along...the X-Files did!

| Did anyone watch Will Patton get killed?? Whoa I was bummed...
Looks like the previews for next week though might be interesting
since his body is not where it should be... That guy (in the romantic
Coffee commercials is in the previews also), this looks like the
story line is heating up...

gent from the Coffee commercials made his debut on this show...
actually I thought he was excellent...your not sure if he's protecting
Sidney or if he has a hidden agenda or a little of both...

Thank you for pointing out the coffee man to me - I thought I'd seem
him somewhere and I just could not place him. I agree, he did do a
good job.
Comments:
Do you think that was really Morgan in the deep freeze? It was hard to
tell? Do you think her farther is in the freezer to? I know he must
be alive or holding up somewhere.
I also liked Booth. I wish he was around a bit longer

| I, uh...well, dunno how (sheepishly said)..! I know that the VCR has
to be 'tuned' in to Channel 3 and at one time it was and then got
disconnected and used elsewhere. Now I can't tune it in. After tuning
it in, I *may* be able to figure the stupid thing out, but as of right
now...uh uh. This is quite embarassing!

No, I know what you mean ... the VCR has those "tuning knobs"
for each channel that are a pain in the butt to re-tune once
you lose the station.
Try this:
Turn on another TV in the house to channel 4 and see what's on
that one. Then go to the VCR and tune the current channel 3
position to channel 4. Turn the cable box to channel 4 and then
adjust the VCR knob up a bit until channel 4 comes back in,
which means you now have adjusted the VCR to channel 3.
Or buy a new VCR without those stupid knobs. 8^)

(the one I can't do), another only 'plays', and no directions on the
3rd! Yes, I must admit I do accept hand_me_downs...! ;)
Thanks for the help...I will try that! Yippee!!!! I'll be able to
tape shows!!!! I can't wait!
Thanks again

| I am stunned and disappointed that FOx cancelled this show. Seems to
me that Fox really doesn't understand how to build an audience, that
unless a show is an instant hit, they have no patience. It happened
last year with Brisco County Jr. and it happened again with VR5. This
show simply got better and better with every episode. Lori Singer
surprised me by being a much better actress than I thought she was, and
the special effects were excellent.

| I'm not sure what criteria the FOX networks uses. I can't imagine that
they're trying to compete with ABC, NBC, and CBS, so I don't think
they use the Neilsen ratings as a criteria for canceling shows like
VR5 or Briscoe County Jr. Maybe amount of viewer mail ?
As the lead-in to the X Files, I thought VR5 was sure to succeed.

I can't imaging that they're _not_ trying to compete with the networks,
myself.
