| We also watch it every day - we have a 5 year old son who is totally
captivated by them. He has PR sheets, clothing, Megazord toy, and tons
of other stuff. It's better than some stuff that's on TV, and to be
honest, I was getting a little sick of some of the other shows he was
watching. Since it's on at 5:00 every day here in the Boston area, it
actually gives me a chance to start supper since I know Derek will be
busy for a 1/2 hour watching Power Rangers!
Go, Go, Power Rangers!

| Yes, I watch it too because we like to watch TV with our 8 yr old.
He too has many of the items.
I think the show trys to bring different message across each show to
help kids work together and solve problems.
My son's fav ranger is Tommy(Green Ranger)

| My nephew loves the green one, Tommy also, what is the appeal?
Since he was the one that was 'added on' I'm really curious why he is
so popular.
Thanks

276.5 | the green ranger... | CTHQ::MACARTHUR | | Tue Jul 26 1994 00:58 | 7 |
| My son likes the red ranger, but I think the green one is edging him
out. I think it's because Tommy is a good kid, and doesn't often get
to be a ranger, but when Evil Rita manipulates him, he shows that good
can triumph over evil. It may also be something as simple as his green
ranger outfit is different from the other outfits....

276.6 | Junior Power Ranger Fan Club is a 10+ for kids! | DPDMAI::POGAR | Movie Critic-Costner Specialist | Tue Jul 26 1994 05:26 | 27 |
| My daughter Maresa (almost 8) likes Kimberly, the pink Ranger, but she
really enjoys the shows that have Tommy in them. She's got _me_
programmed to set the VCR on Mondays, because she's in a dance class
during the Power Rangers.
A few of "our" activities:
- I just bought the CD on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Haven't
loaded it yet, though - that's tonight''s project.
- Signed Maresa up for the Junior Power Rangers Fan Club - for $17.95, you
really get your money's worth - ID card, certificate, 1/2 hour movie,
some stick-ons, poster, autographed pix and biographies of each of
them. And they sent it Federal Express - Maresa really got a P.R.
kick out of that!
- Bought all five of the movies @$6.96 each at Sam's; waiting for her
birthday in August to give them to her.
- Mervyn's has boys' _and_ girls' MMPR clothing. Bought both of the
"girl"-style T-shirts - one with all the MMPRs, one with just
Kimberly.
I have a very happy Junior Ranger at home! ;)

276.11 | New Ranger... | TROOA::DIVITO | | Wed Oct 19 1994 04:04 | 21 |
| Hi all MMPR fans,
My son was watching the show these past two mornings and it was a two
parter.
We have a new Ranger. It is the new White Ranger.
His Identity is behind form feeds.
The white ranger is...
Tommy. The dragonsaur is no more. He is the owner of the
Tigersaur(sp).
Liked the old one better. This new saur is hookey.

Now banned in Norway.
Seems 3 youngsters tragically beat and killed a young girl in Oslo.
Apparantly, violence like this is beyond rare over there. Anyway, the
government banned this show in case it was partly responsible for the
kids behavior.

| In the UK, we have had the White Ranger for a few episodes, and the
film has come out with Adam, Rocky and Ayesha replacing Jason, Trini and Zack.
Yesterdays episode introduced the new characters: I was surprised as I assumed
they were just replacements for the film version. I noticed in this episode,
'The Ninja Contest part 1', that the presumably-soon-to-be-replaced characters
were all played by from-behind body doubles at the ninja contest, and their
appearance in the command centre was faked with archive footage: Tommy wears
green clothing throughout this episode, presumably so the old footage matched.
Does anyone know what happened to the original actors?
(I used to watch Power Rangers with a sense of twenty-somenting ironic
detachment, enjoying its badness: since the coming of the White Ranger I've
actually enjoyed it at face value as top-notch chop-socky, no longer so
dependent on using (and re-using) the old Japanese footage.)

| I believe the kids that were being replaced had the misfortune to ask
for more money or something to that effect.
It was touched upon (albeit lightly) a few weeks ago in TV Guide.
