| I discovered this show also just a short while ago, and quickly became
a fan. Do not tape any episodes.
It has a Miami Vice vivid color perspective, and I think Chris'
outfits are just great. Course, Rita is my main focus, and her
wardrobe dept makes sure her threads do her justice. Yes, there is a
lot of skin, but past that there is also some good substance to the
stories.
Will continue to watch.

| I don't like it. Oddly enough, my problem with the show is that it is too
moralistic and politically correct.
The formula has become far too obvious. The idea is to get some lady on screen
in their underwear, hammer home the fact that they are either a bad girl or they
are someone in a meaningful relationship, to appease the censor, spit out lines
that are overly cute, and move on to the car chase.
Nice idea at first but they quickly ran out of material. It got to the point
where I couldn't make it through a show without channel surfing.

| I absolutely love this show! I have been a fan of this show for about
a year now. The wardrobe is great and so is Chris. If anyone watches
Melrose Place, Chris is Jane's husband in real life and he played in
a show or two on Melrose. Anyways, the story lines are great and I love
it when the good guys win in the end.
It's on at different times, sometimes it will be a Sunday, Monday or

I have a question RE: last Sunday's 10:00 episode (3/27). The episode
was very good except I hated the way it ended. The show was about two
story lines but the one I wa interested in was the one involving Chris.
There was a DA that was "stalking" him as far as she was being his
secret admirer sending him flowers and a teddy bear and all kinds of
stuff. She tries to have Rita killed because she's jealous of Chris'
relationship with her and then towards the end of the show, Chris goes
to her house to help her with something and she coaxes him into her
bedroom and she's scantily dressed and he sees the small "shrine" that
she has idolizing him and she wants him to nmake love to her. MEan
while, Rita finds out about the attempted hit on her and who called for
it and heads to the DA's house. The DA points a gun to Chris and then
she shoots him. In the next scene you see Rita and another cop walking
into the DA's house and they walk into the bedroom and there's Chris in
bed with the DA. The DA tells them to leave and the next thing you
know, she shoots herself and Chris is out cold in the bed with a huge
gunshot wound in his stomach. They show him being taken to the
hospital in the ambulance with Rita riding with him and you know that
it's really bad but then the show ENDS! That's it ! No "to be
continued" or anything!
Does anyone know if the Sunday 10:00 episodes is considered the
"regular" time slot and do the shows continue from week to week like
Melrose Place does? I can't believe they would end the episode that
way! Oh, that burns me up. I mean it's obvious he lives otherwise
there wouldn't be a show, but still......
Any answers?
THanks in advance
S
(You can bet, I'll be watching this Sunday's episode)

season for Silk Stalkings has ended with the episode of Chris being
taken to the hospital in the ambulance? Isn't that a little early?
Most shows end their season in May. I hope that they do air the
episode that cotinues with that story. But alas, for now, I tape both
episodes that air on Sunday night and then the episode that airs on
Monday night. It does irratate me that USA airs Mondays episode as one

I think it's related to the way they sometimes use "golfing" as a
euphemism for sex.
Re: in general
I've watched this for years, so I must like it. Sure, it's formulaic
and exploitative, but I do like the chemistry between the partners.
They've done some interesting stories that springboard off headline
cases (a variation on the Menendez murders before the trial made them
hot, a take on the Amy Fisher scenario). Sometimes the detective work
is actually pretty good.
Each season they've had a different coroner; Dr. Weinstein was my
favorite. I have to say I'm really not fond of Capt. Lipschitz. He
and his wife (Frannie) had been on a couple of early episodes as Marv
(the Mattress King) and Sylvia. They were cute as occasional
characters (like Cotton), but I don't like seeing as much of them as I
do now. I really liked Ben Vereen, and Robert Gosset(?) was fun.
Speaking of recurring characters, Cotton's brother has got to go.
They're trying too hard with that one.

Cotton's brother? Boy, I missed that character. When did they
introduce him? I have only recently started watching it and I can't
seem to put any order on the ones I've seen. One week it's one
captian, then next week it's still yet another captain.
I thought it was strange to see an episode this past week where (as
referred to in the last reply) Captain Lipshitz was another character.
How did htey ever pull him into being the captain. How did they write
the transition?

didn't really do a transition. He just showed up, a transfer from New

| Here is a brief summary of the season opener, after a FF
Chris is slowly but surely recovering from the gunshot wound, which
did some severe damage to his muscles in the arm and chest. He has a
goegeous doctor (of course!) looking after him, who half-heartedly
turns aside Chris' advances for most of the show before giving in to
his boyish charm.
He is also doing therapy, and working very hard at it, with a gorgeous
physical therapist (of course!!) who comes on to Chris, but he turns
her away since he's trying to score with the doctor.
Meanwhile, Rita has gone through three partners in ten days, none of
whom can measure up to Chris. She is assigned a case that looks like
it's going to be a serial murder, a very ritaulistic slaying with some
unusual aspects to it. Rita is volunteering some time at a halfway
house, where she meets two girls, who of course are going to run into
this sicko guy that committed the first murder. Sure enough, one of
them shows up dead. After some solid police work, Rita has a bead on
the driver who supplies the sicko with women. SHe's going after him,
and Chris insists on coming along, ensuring Rita he's all right. They
gete to the bad guy's place, and chase after him, but to Chris' chagrin
he almost wounds Rita before she shoots the perp. Chris is simply not
strong enough to shoot a gun.
Chris gets disgusted with himself, and quits the force.

I thought this was by far the best episode of the new season. Instead
of your usual one or two suspects, there were four. And the plot,
while of course a bit of a stretch, made sense to me in a logical if
unrealistic sort of way.
It was good seeing Rita without that sleazeball boyfriend, at least for

The doctor plannig the lunch "surprise" was way too obvious. It
strains credibility to believe Chris didn't see that coming.

any suspense. But then I haven't seen it in a bit.
Seems they usually went:
- Some crime happened, man and woman cop investigated.
- Bad guys characters get developed. They sneer a lot.
- Good guy cops have run in with boss. Everyone stares and talks cool.
- Woman appears in lacy underwear. This is equivalent of big bill board
saying "this girl is a bad guy".
- Cops go under cover (subplot about some character struggling to go
straight)
- Cops get caught, have narrow escape, catch bad guys.
- Happy ending, subplot character gets it together.
Have they changed or did I miss something?

This is the shows most watched couple of weeks. I thought they kind of
took the cheesy way out to write the characters off, but I guess they

going to make it. The chemistry just isn't there like with Estes and

| I totally agree that the way they wrote Chris out of the script was the
easy way out. Just kill him off. I like the way Hoimicide wrote out
the Ned Beatty and Daniel Baldwin characters - theyt are on 22 week
suspension. ANd Munch said "Who would think up 22 weeks for a
suspension?" Which is, of course, the number of shows they'll make
this year.
Anyway, back to Silk Stalkings. I did enjoy Mitzi Kapture's portrayal
of the grieving widow. She is a fine actress, and I expect her career
to take off after she has her baby. I hope Rob Estes does well also,
and I think his good looks and charm will get him some good roles. I
just wish they had left him injured, paralyzed, something more
creative - anything to keep his departure open-ended.
It was interesting watching the episode from the second season that was
on immediately after the new show. Mitzi was a lot harder looking in
those days.
Best of luck to them both.

Rob Estes was in the movie "Phantom of the Mall: Eric's Revenge".
Exciting, huh?
Sean Reilly was in it also, but I have a feeling it wasn't ours
truly. 8^)

| It's nice to see USA showing original Silk Stalking episodes at 11:00
on M-F. Got to see a slightly punkier Rita (more tease in the hair,
shorter skirts). Terri Treas (from ALien Nation) was a guest star last
night.

I used to watch this show religiously. Then I got super busy
and was tires quite a bit and fell out of synch.
Would someone be so kind as to send me mail with a wrap up
from the point where Chris and Rita finally got together?
I know she got pregnant but that was the last I saw....
I've tried watching the new ones a couple times but can't
stand it. The characters don't even come close to having
the same chemistry that Rob and Mitzi had. I can't even
watch the new actress talk. All I see is teeth!
Thanks much.
