This new series started about three weeks ago. I've caught a couple of episodes and starting to really like it. It stars Francis Sternhagen, Terence Knox, and ??. It's been described as "Prince of Tides without the psychology". I may appreciate it more since I'm from the south, it has many touches of southern culture that I can relate to. Randy

I try to catch this one. It's got possibilities! Also stars Karen Allen as the lead/daughter/narrative voice. There's an older actor (name ?) familiar to me from "St. Elsewhere" (Dr. Westfall?) playing her father. And the black-sheep brother is played by the guy who's been Duel McCall in the "Desperado" TV movies. The plot lines involving the 3rd generation are predictably oriented to attract that kind of audience, but I like some of the things they're doing with the older characters ... the struggling business, the mother's illness, adult children working out issues with their parents, etc. |
