I enjoyed this show a great deal. It's very well written, terrific dialog.
The sets are great, Miami's South Beach area, the acting and direction are
fine. There seems to be good chemistry with the cast already. This show has
hit written all over it. Another thing I like about it is that the writers
are obviously film literate. The opening scene is taken from two famous
scenes in _It Happened One Night_ and the title itself was the title of one
of Betty Grables better films.

Whomever is doing makeup for the lead woman should be shot. Even when she was
supposed to look glamourous she had dark circles under her eyes.
I'd give this one a B-. It's a direct rip-off of moonlighting. The lead male is
good and his supporting cast of co-workers is good but I don't see the
chemistry between the leads....It'll be gone by mid-season unless they do some
great stuff with the writing...

| .1 - I agree totally.
.2 - I agree about the makeup!! I'd give M.o.M. an A-; yes it's a
direct ripoff of Moonlighting, but it's a *good* ripoff of
Moonlighting. That was a formula that worked for me, and they're using
it to good advantage, IMO. I thought there was sufficient chemistry -
for a first episode.
"Gwen" is a real chameleon, and I don't think it's *all* due to the
spotty makeup job. She has a "rubber face" that I thought was
sometimes out of control, but most of the time very appealing. Now
that they have her insinuating her way into partnership with the PIs,
the writers (and wardrobe, and new makeup staff :-} ) should take
advantage of her varied character looks. I think they're doing just
fine with the snappy repartee, and not bad with the plot.

Another strong episode last night. Strong film noir elements. Again very
film history literate. The "paying the pi to find me before I'm missing"
plot device was used in several films as was "the torch singer in trouble
who's having an affair with the piano player and the boss". The writing
was again strong with great dialog. I think this is the best new series
this year along with "NYPD Blue".

This has become one of my favorites so naturally it's now on hiatus.
