The following is Fox's fall schedule, notable for the near total absense of comedy. Only Thursday and Sunday feature any comedy half-hours. Monday -- ``Melrose Place," 8; ``Party of Five," 9. Tuesday -- ``Fox Night at the Movies," 8. Wednesday -- ``Beverly Hills, 90210," 8; ``Models, Inc.", 9. Thursday -- ``Martin," 8; ``Living Single," 8:30; ``Uptown Undercover," 9. Friday -- ``Mantis," 8; ``The X-Files," 9. Saturday -- ``Cops," 8; ``America's Most Wanted," 9. Sunday -- ``Fortune Hunter," 7; ``The Simpsons," 8; ``Hardball," 8:30; ``Married ... With Children," 9; ``Wild Oats," 9:30. Holly
109.2 | ABC? | DEMON::DEMON::COURT | Wit happens. | Thu Jun 02 1994 06:44 | 7 |
Still no ABC posting? They were the first network to unveil their fall schedule. Thanks, Mike

RE: 166.28 (didn't want to flood FRasier with this) HUH? Was my response too. It appears to be half an announcement - I sure hope there will be more detail coming out today. Joyce
109.5 | Channel 7 must change now, too | MAGEE::GIBSON | Sat Jul 16 1994 00:44 | 5
The change takes effect in September. No, the FCC does nt allow two CBS affiliates in the same market. Channel 7 will have to decide which affiliation to make (NBC or FOX or ...). Linda

Liz Walker announced the deal on WBZ news last night. CBS has purchased WBZ from Westinghouse and they will switch to CBS programming. The buzz around town is that after the current CBS affiliate Ch 7 decides between NBC and FOX, the current FOX affiliate Ch 25 will pick up the other one. Except for WBZ going to CBS, the rest is just speculation, There are a number of other stations that could get into the bidding and there's the upcoming Paramount network that could figure into the situation. Other big independents in the Boston area include TV-38 which runs movies and splits the Bruins and Red Sox games with NESN, and TV-56 which shows a lot of syndicated programs. George
109.6 | WONDER::MAKRIANIS | Patty | Sat Jul 16 1994 03:11 | 7
Wow!!! This will take some getting used to. All my life (33 years) I've lived in the Boston area and as far back as I can remember the channel/network affiliations have been 4/NBC, 5/ABC, and 7/CBS. Patty
109.7 | GRANPA::DFAUST | Bad Things, man... | Sat Jul 16 1994 04:14 | 7
The same type of switch is happening in Philadelphia. WHat makes this switch in Philadelphia even stranger is that the former CBS affiliate is (was) owned and operated by CBS. I think it will all take a little bit of getting used to. Dennis Faust
109.8 | JUPITR::PORTERD | Tue Jul 19 1994 03:28 | 9
Re: .36 Patty, You probably don't remember but 5/ABC and 7/CBS switch when I was a kid and we are about the same age. Donna
109.9 | CRISTA::MAYNARD | The Front Row Kid | Fri Aug 26 1994 05:48 | 7
There seems to be a ratings war developing between NBC and ABC. After NBC moved Frasier to Tuesday nights, ABC countered by moving Roseanne to Wednesday nights and putting Home Improvement opposite Frasier. Apparently you're going to have go searching for your favorite shows until the networks realize that juggling time slots is a kiss of death... Jim
109.10 | DELNI::DISMUKE | Thu Sep 01 1994 02:07 | 6
Well, my take is watch one during the new season, catch the other during summer reruns. Nielson never called me, so they won't know which one I "support". -s |
