Hi, my name is Joyce Tomao I live in Worcester MA and work at the Mill.
I truly enjoy TV, though my life doesn't revolve around it. I love all
types of shows and now know how to program my VCR :^) so I don't miss
as many as I use to.
Though I can be a frequent noter this is my first shot at being a
Co-moderator - I look forward to the challenge.

Hi!
I'm Mary-Lynn Belforti, or M-L as most people call me (some call me
worse, but we won't go into that)
I live in Manchester, and work at Spitbrook, the commute through exits
7-4 are hell!!!!
We watch a lot of TV, but because ABC comes in best, we tend to stick
to that and the PBS channel....

Hello everyone!
I'm Holly Taylor. Known to some as "TC" (TerrorCat) although I haven't
heard that one in a while. I've been called other names, but nothing
to put into a "family" conference.
I watch TV somewhat, but you very seldom see me glued to it. Except on
Wednesday nights when I'm usually glued to FOX for "Beverly Hills
90210" and sometimes "Melrose Place". Jennie Garth is great!!

My name is Ian J Crossley and I work in the Solent Business Park in

I don't have a satalite dish (or cable) so only have the normal BBC1,
BBC2, ITV and CH4 channels, but they do me quite nicely.
See you all later,

some of the talk of different shows will allow me some insight as to
good shows I might be missing while doing my sport.

Howdy...
I'm Shilah Bartholomeus, located in Santa Clara, California...part of
PSSI for the Western Geography. The TV is on while cleaning house and
cooking dinner, and I sit down to actually watch a show or two once in
a while. I enjoy watching "Evening Shade", "Hearts A Fire", "Murphy
Brown", and "Mad About You" when I have the opportunity, but tend to
really enjoy the PBS Masterpiece Theatre Specials. (Talk about a
difference in taste!)
Look forward to the discussions in here...

I watch L.A. Law, All My Children, 911, Oprah and don't laugh but
Highway to Heaven re-runs. Plus, if I'm home during the week
tend to "channel surf" thru a lot of the Talk Shows. They sure have
some interesting people on them sometimes.
I'm glad this conference got started.

I'm Catherine Pogar, and I'm a compulsive TV and movie-watcher.
I have tapes for each day of the week so I don't miss any of my
favorites. I go to school nearly full time, but I make the time to
catch up. This conference is great!
Here are my shows by day:
Sunday: Life Goes On
Monday: Hearts Afire, Murphy Brown, Northern Exposure
Tuesday: Reasonable Doubts
Wednesday: BH 90210, Melrose Place, Law and Order
Thursday: Knots Landing
Friday: I'll Fly Away, Perry Mason (new)
Saturday: Columbo, The Commish
I'm also a movie addict, so I keep two VCRs going all the time with
either TV or movies in them. I usually go to the movies for the new
releases every Friday night and then come home and watch all the TV
I've recorded.
I'm looking forwarding to talking about the characters and what we
think they should do. Thanks for this conference, Joyce!

Well, I guess it's about time I enter myself in the intro note so here
goes.......
My name is Serena Lyons (recently married) and thans to those of you
who let me know about this conference. I missed talking about 90210
and Melrose Place.
I have to admit I don't get to watch much tv anymore, but I do have a
couple of shows that I have to tape if I'm not able to watch them at
air time. My freshman/Sophmore year in high school, I knew everything
there was to know about TV.
I've had the pleasure of meeting Jameson Parker from Simon & Simon
fame, Alex Cord from Airwolf Fame and Parker Stevenson best known for
the Hardy Boys and Bay Watch. Nice guys! Very pleasant.
Well, here's to TV_chatter!

BEDAZL::MAXFIELD "It's PC to be PI." 19 lines 31-DEC-1992 02:02
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been watching TV since I was old enough to sit up by myself!
That's nearly 40 years of viewing. I have no qualms about how
much tv I watch, I find tv both relaxing and educational. I find it
hard to believe when people say they don't watch tv; invariably
those same people complain about how much bad tv there is (how do they
know if they don't watch, huh?) ;-)
Right now my favorite network shows are Seinfeld, The Simpsons,
Murphy Brown, Love and War, Mad About You, Roseanne, I'll
Fly Away, Law and Order, Bob, and Picket Fences. I still watch
Northern Exposure and L.A. Law, but I think both of them are getting
tired. I also watch Masterpiece Theater and Mystery, and many
interesting science and nature shows on PBS.
I have cable, and get HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Bravo, Encore, A&E and
all the other stations that come with cable (up to about 60 now). The
Comedy Channel shows Mystery Science Theater which I find hilarious.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ooooh, it feels good to be in here with some elbow room and breathing
room and "chatter" in the conference name! All RIGHT!
I've been watching forever too, and I've even met Captain Kangaroo and
Mr. Green Jeans (their set decorator was a family friend). And, like
practically every other kid in Greater Boston in the '50s, I was in the
audience at Rex Trailer's Boom Town once; also Big Brother Bob Emery.
I like quirky British shows (is that redundant? :-} ) and would echo
most of the shows favored by the previous introductions. I'm also
an unabashed fan of quite a few kids' shows. Fortunately, I have an
almost-8 daughter who allows me to watch with her (Where In the World
Is Carmen Sandiego; Square One TV; Clarissa Explains It All; Fifteen;
Sesame Street...).
I recognize with pleasure some noters from other conferences--this
should be great! Thanks.

One of my earliest memories was the day we got our TV. I was a little kid less
then 5. I remember because until I was 5 I slept in a room opposite what was to
become the TV room.
I had already gone to bed and I heard a lot of commotion. Then as I looked
through the glass door into the living room I saw that blue gray glow that was
to change my life forever, our 1st TV. That would have been '51 or '52.
Since then I've spent my entire life "glued to the tube" and I'm not the
worse for it. No doubt in my mind, TV is the invention of the century.
As for work, I can currently be found in Maynard doing realtime software.

I'm Jodi Newell. I'm not much of a TV connoiseur but I do like
to read about other people's impressions and critiques of the
various TV offerings. That way I feel somewhat informed without
having to make a great effort to actually watch TV.
Don't get me wrong, I like TV but with two Nicklodeon aged kids
and a husband who knows (and watches) every tennis game ever played
this century, I don't get much of a chance. Does anyone know is
tennis is truly a year-round sport like I've led to believe? I swear,
it's on every day here in Southern California.
The real attraction to this conference is on the off-chance that I
actually do get to watch television, I'd like to maybe 'chat' about
it without fear of retribution. I'd also love to see a similar
Movie_Chatter conference but I don't personnaly have the disk space
to make it happen.
Cheers!

Whoa-ho! I just discovered this conference by accident, while
"channel surfing" through EASYNET_CONFERENCES.
I used to be one of the longtime resident curmudgeons/bad-boys in the
TV conference, from 1988 to 1992 when I "resigned" (anyone who's here
can guess why :-)), i.e., "delete entry", so I wasn't even reading.
Now, I can see you've already got a couple of notorious and nefarious
types in here from various conferences, but if you can stand another
one, I'll toss in a caustic reply now and then, and even sometimes
a nicey-nice one, on the rare occasion when I actually like something.
Thanks to the moderators for creating this alternative (yeah, I know
you're not advertising it as such, nudge-nudge-wink-wink). I don't
know if you've announced this conference in EOT::TV (or wherever it
is now), but if you haven't, and you want to increase your "circulation",
you might want to go into TV and obtain a distribution list of sorts from
the note authors there, and send out announcements.
And just when I'd gotten over my TV notes withdrawal symptoms...

The title of my reply 53.4 was changed by someone other than me,

This is appalling and unconscionable. Not even the moderator of

The Simpsons
Some of my favorite shows from the past:
The Night Stalker
