    Lori, That was great!
    
    Lon got shot yesterday.  Paul and Chris were having lunch and a guy in
    a leather coat and ski mask came in and held the place up.  He muttered
    some words like 'you think we fight in your war and then you come to
    this country to...' I couldn't get it all but I was shocked.  Last
    scene was Lon laying on the floor with Chris trying to make her hold on
    - she looked asleep - and Paul calling 911.  Paul eyeballed the villian
    through his ski mask right before he made a run for the door.
    
    I wonder if this guy (boy) is Lon's son.  Jack was talking a deal on
    the phone a work and doodled Mai Lon - I wonder if he was with her when
    he was in Vietnam and they had a son and that was her son who held up
    the restaurant.
    
    Who knows, we shall see.

Vicki is convinced that something is "going on" with Nick, and she's determined 
to find out what it is.  She told Cole she thinks he is having girl troubles 
(based on what he told her the other day).

Nick asked Nikki what's going on between her and Victoria, and Nikki just said
that her feelings toward Victoria have changed. Then she seemed rather annoyed
with him for coming home from Europe unannounced, because she hadn't planned
on having him there for the summer, giving Nick the impression that he'll be
"cramping her style". Then Jed came over and they were introduced.

Nina and Ryan are in bed when the phone rings...it's the doorman saying Neil is
on his way up.  Neil comes up and said he saw Ryan perform at Gina's tonight.
Ryan is worried, saying "Oh, GREAT!" but Neil told him to relax... he just came
up to tell him he thought he was terrific and has no intention of telling him to
stop.  Ryan assured him it would never affect his job at Jabot; that it is just
a hobby for him.  After Neil left, Ryan told Nina how relieved he was that Neil
was cool with it.  Then they both felt the baby move.

Blade, Dru, and Malcolm still try to convince Oliv to do the photo shoot for the
perfume ad. (Apparently she did a shoot with Dru once before, but I don't know
when. Blade said it was last year.)  They talked her into it.

Paul and Lynn try to talk Chris out of the ridiculous notion of going to 
Vietnam. They get word that Luan survived surgery. Then Mai shows up...she said
her mother asked her to bring Chris a photo (that was taken by a friend a
couple of years ago) of her brother Keemo. She wants Chris to find her brother
because she thinks Luan would will herself to live if she thought she'd see her
son again.  By the time Mai left, it seemed more like Paul was trying to con-
vince Chris that they should go.  Chris goes to see Luan and tells her that she
and Paul are going to Vietnam to look for her son.

Mamie brought Ashley dinner at the office. Ash tells her how relieved she is 
that her father is back to his old self again and all is well with John and 
Jill's marriage. Mamie got all silent, then told Ash that Jill just gave her a
raise. This surprised Ash, and Mamie said "I'm sure Jill has her reasons."  Jill
walked in, asking what Mamie was doing there. Ash said they were just talking
about John and how happy they were that he was back to normal. Then Ash told her
how much she admired Jill for sticking by John thru this difficult time.  After
Jill left, Ash told Mamie that it seems like something is going on with Jill,
and Mamie replied "There is always something going on with Jill."

Jill went to see Neil to yell at him for allowing one of his subordinates (Ryan)
to sing in nightclubs. She told Neil to tell Ryan tomorrow that his singing days
are over.  Neil said he felt the same way at first, but then he went to hear him
and he was terrific, and suggested she hear him perform, but she didn't care,
saying it was totally imappropriate for a Jabot executive.

The last scene had the song "Can't find my way back home" playing in the 
background, with jeep sounds and voices in the background...I don't know what 
that was all about...probably scenes of Keemo?

What was the name of the guy that was friends with Victoria (who used to like
her) when she was going out with/married to Ryan?  I can't for the life of me
remember his name. Was it Brandon?  Anyways, the new "Nick" looks and sounds a 
lot like him.

I missed the first set of scenes before the theme music played.

Vicki has a talk with Nick, telling him she wasn't promiscuous when she was his
age. (He joked "Just two husbands by the time you're 18".)  She gives him 
pointers on how to handle Nikki.  He goes out to some club or something, where 
two girls (Amy and Sharon) spot him.  Amy knows him from jr. high and has a big
crush on him. He joins them and buys them a drink.  He was interested in 
Sharon, but she has a date tonite with "Matt", so Amy suggested they double date
with Sharon and Matt. He agreed, but he's not interested in Amy. He goes home 
and tells Vicki he "landed" the wrong girl, and now he's stuck with Amy tonight.
(Sounds like the old Cricket-Phillip-Nina storyline from years back.)  He said
Sharon was a total babe. Vicki told him to get to know Amy before he complains,
saying total babes sometimes are boring and conceited. He said something about
just wanting to have fun this summer, and she said something about his hormones
being out of control and he is going to end up in trouble.

John notices there is tension between Jill and Mamie. Jill told John she was 
abrupt with Mamie the other day and Mamie was still holding a grudge. He said he
would talk to Mamie but Jill insisted she'd take care of it.  After John left,
Jill tells Mamie her attitude and hostility has to stop, saying there is no need
for it. She claims she wants to get along.  She tells Mamie her relationship 
with Jed is strictly business saying "What you THINK you know is wrong, there is
nothing going on with Jed and me." Mamie doesn't believe her and says "if that's
the case you have nothing to worry about."  Mamie said she's making a fool out
of John. Then Jill told her that Jed came on to her and that's what she over-
heard. Mamie said "You're lying through your teeth".  Jill screams at her and
Mamie said "Why don't you have me fired then? If I was you, that's what I'd do.
I'd go to John and say 'Mamie is accusing me of having an affair with Jed and
I'm not. I want you to fire her'. That's what I'd do." Jill starts crying then.

Vic and Hope are still on their honeymoon. Douglas phoned them to tell him that
Nick is home for summer vacation. Vic said "I can't believe he's 16 already".
(He's not the ONLY one!) They decide to end their honeymoon a couple of days
early so he can spend some time with Nick.  Hope tells Vic she would love it if
Nick lived with them for a while this summer.  These two make my stomach turn
with their "You've made all my dreams come true" speeches. :-P  I'll spare you
the rest of the honeymoon stuff.

Ash asked to see Tracy. She told Tracy that she is obviously becoming drawn back
to Brad. Tracy told her it was none of her business.  Tracy was very defensive
and a bit hostile.

Lauren and Jack discuss Tracy and Brad. Lauren insists Tracy is not a threat to
her, but Brad is very drawn to Colleen and Tracy might misinterpret Brad's 
feelings and end up losing Steve in the process.  Jack goes to see Brad and 
asks if there's something going on between him and Tracy "otherwise why hasn't
Tracy gone back to NY?"  He asks if he's leading Tracy on, accusing Brad of
messing with Tracy's life. Brad says he is not pushing for a reconciliation 
with Tracy, but he's not ruling anything out, either.

    Please keep in mind...these are not my updates, they are from someone
    who "watches" the soap during lunch via radio.  She then mails us the

    Those are GREAT!  I tape the show everyday but don't always get to
    watch it AND don't always get to log into this conference with time to
    enter updates.

    Those of us on the east cost did not get to see the show last Thursday
    and Friday (because of OJ's prelim hearings).  I expected Monday's show
    to start where Wednesday's left off, but it didn't.  Is there anyone
    out there not on eastern standard time that was fortunate enough to see
    the shows late last week?  Can you put in a brief update?

    The O.J. Hearing is killing me.  I am almost to the point of
    complaining to channel 7 here on the East Coast.
    
    What's happened lately is exciting.  Drew found out she's pregnant - I
    think it's Malcolm's baby that time he came into her apartment to check
    on her but she was all doped up when she was fighting the flu the time
    Olivia gave her drugs and she took too many because she wanted to get
    better fast.  Drew and Neil are always careful when their together
    to prevent pregnancy.  Drew made Liv swear not to tell Neil - Neil wants
    kids real bad but Drew isn't ready.  I wonder where they'll go with
    this story line.  If she doesn't have the baby - or has it then one day 
    it'll be discovered it isn't Neil's.  What if we find out later Neil 
    'can't' father children when they go to make a second one?
    
    Victoria's nude posing for Esprit magazine 'will' get published despite
    Coles effort in tearing up the contract.  Of course the people at the
    magazine will publish it.  They are out to make a buck.  Nikki's
    suspicion of what went on in NY is legitimate.  Victoria was uneasy
    when confronted by her father of what happened in NY.  She tried to
    avoid eye contact, lying to him and danced around his persistant 
    questioning.
    
    I like the Sharon and Nick story line a lot.  I hope they get together. 
    Nikki is being a jerk not telling Nick that Sharon called and saying
    he's not home.
    
    I haven't seen Esther since she got married, (probably an episode when
    the trial was on).  Can someone fill me in?  Are they back?  How does
    Normie like living with Catherine?

    Hello out there!  Does anybody watch Y&R anymore?  The last update is
    from 1994!!!!!  Please fill us in on what has been happening.

  When Paul pesters him with specific questions about the shooting, Matt 
claims he can't remember but insists that Nick is responsible.  After Paul
leaves, Matt tries desperately to reach Amy and Drake before Paul can talk
with them.  Paul telephones Drake's mother and learns that Matt also just
called looking for Drake.  When Danny stops by for some legal advice about
custody of his  son, Chris informs him that no judge would keep him away
from his son.   Danny's stunned to learn that Paul and Chris are lovers now
and that she's in love  with Paul.  Nikki blames Sharon for all of Nick's
trouble and orders her away from the homecoming celebration at the ranch.
Sharon reluctantly agrees but Victor offers to take her there later.  Victor
reminds Sharon of the promise she made to him about not running off with
Nick. Sharon apologizes and explains that Nick talked her out of it and Nick
comes first.  Victor tells Sharon that's  the best answer she could have
given him.
