| Well, there are times in life where I must admit I fail God...willfully
sinning and all.
I have learned, yet need to be reminded that when I do fall into sin,
God has to bring me back to the bitter waters of Myra. Chuck Swindoll
has been giving good messages this week on the Israelites and how they
spent 39 years going in a big circle in the desert. Because of their
lack of faith, God made them wanderers and brought them right back to
where they started.

Well not exactly. They started in Egypt.

(an important truth is buried here concerning the salvation of the
believer which you already know)

I knew you did! 8*)
Did Chuck Swindoll apply their experience to the believer's experience?

Chuck Swindoll has gone through a small series on the book of
Deuteronomy. He is correlating Old Testasment history with our walk in
Christ, and how we, like the Israelites go through the deserts of life,
and how sometimes, God has to bring us back to the beginning. Today,
he got more into Joshua and the beginnings of the Jericho incident.
Here we have the Canaanites in the city of Jericho...stockpiled with
food, water, and weaponry. Yet the walls were extremely thick, and the
doors were sealed shut. Nobody could get in or out, and their hearts
waxed over in fear.
If the Israelites, all of whom never saw the parting of the Red Sea,
could encircle the city walls for seven days, and at the blast of the
trumpets let out a great shout, then all the more we as believers in
the great savior can do likewise.
As a footnote, Jericho stands as a great example of God's sovereignty
and might. We consider Israel a load of warmongers....but who really
fought the battle considering the numbers, size and fortification of
this Pagan city??!
