The hymn's not familiar to me. Though it's possible that the rest of the hymn sets some different context, the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love is Faith in Christ our Lord: his Birth, Death, Resurrection, and Coming Again. /john

Blest Be the Tie that Binds. . . by John Fawcett & Hands G. Naegeli Gospel Hymnal, Baptist Conference Press, 1950 Blessed be the tie that binds Our hearts in Christian love; The fellowship of kindred minds Is like to that above. Before our Father's throne, We pour our ardent prayers; Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one, Our comforts and our cares. We share our mutual woes, Our mutual burdens bear; And often for each other flows The sympathizing tear. When we asunder part, It gives us inward pain; But we shall still be joined in heart, And hope to meet again.

We sing the song after The Lord's Supper, holding hands. It is our tradition and has great meaning for us. jeff

My favorite post service song was "The Family of God", which we sang after each service, holding hands, at a church I attended in Glendale Ariz. Jim |
