I read "The Greatest Salesman in the World" and enjoyed it (read it
many years ago). I also read another book by him but can't remember
the name.."The Christ Commission" is my favorite by him..I read it
many years ago as well, and am thinking of reading it again..I don't
know a great deal about him, however..The Christ commission, as I recall
presents some ideas on some "difficulties" in Mark's gospel..

It's been a number of years since reading Mandino for me, too.
But I remember being very impressed and taking his key ideas,
though played out in fiction, very much to heart.

| I recently read Og Mandino's "The Greatest Miracle in the World."
Towards the end of the book I began to wonder if it wasn't the same book
I'd read years ago that I thought was one of Mandino's other titles.
Maybe it is! %^}
Mandino uses himself as a central character in the book, the successful author
of "The Greatest Salesman in the World." And if the informational clues
contained in the story are factual, Mandino should be presently in his early
seventies. From the his use of the words "mass" and "crucifix," I suspect
the his background is a Roman Catholic.
Mandino draws noticeably upon many sources for the wisdom he shares, including
Mark Twain, an atheist, and the Koran, the Islamic Scriptures.
A snippet from the book "The Greatest Miracle in the World":
"'Mister Og, why not try to change the world? Why not teach others that they
can perform miracles with their lives? Of what importance is it to man that
he does not live at the center of the universe so long as he can create his
own beautiful world? Why should man care that he has descended from the
animal kingdom once he realizes that he has powers possessed by no other
animals? And why should it concern him that some of his actions are
triggered by youthful impressions buried in his subconscious mind when he
still has the power to control his mind and thus ordain his ultimate destiny?
Only man, each in his own way, has the ultimate decision on how his life is
lived.'"
