923.0. "Doubting Thomas" by CSC32::J_CHRISTIE (Retiring C-P Moderator) Fri May 20 1994 20:39
Thomas Didymus, the Twin, the skeptic, the doubter.
I think Thomas has gotten a bad rap, generally speaking. Probably the best
known passages associated with Thomas, one of the Twelve, is contained in
John 20:24-29.
Seldom do we hear about the Thomas who was prepared to die with his
beloved Teacher:
John 11:16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his
fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him [Jesus].
Jesus never rebukes Thomas for being skeptical, though he does point
out how much better it is to believe without seeing.
I think there's something of Thomas in all of us. And I don't think that's
such a bad thing.
What are your thoughts??
Peace,
Richard

| I find it also interesting how at the last supper when Jesus proclaimed
that he was going to be betrayed and put to death, the apostles
immediately argued over who was going to be the greatest. How callous
can you get?!!!
