872.0. "Where two or three are gathered" by CSC32::J_CHRISTIE (Pacifist Hellcat) Tue Mar 08 1994 15:44

"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst
of them."

Matthew 18.20

How literally are we to take this?

Shalom,
Richard

I agree with Alfred on this. So does our choir director. Her motto is if 2
or 3 singers are around, we sing. (We have a rather small choir, and all of
the sopranos and altos have small children and must often forgo choir to teach
Sunday School for the kids. If I'm not there, we don't have a tenor section.

Are at least two required? (serious question.)
Perhaps sharing is important, thus requiring 2 or more.

Jim

I agree also. I also believe it holds true even when one of the two
is a Unitarian. I also believe it holds true outside the institutional
    church.

    Re .3 Cap'n Kirk,

Ours is a highly social faith, is it not? We *need* to connect
    with others and with God.
