At least 4 miraculous events took place in v 51 and 52. I believe they
were meant to show all that something rather significant had happened with
the death of Jesus..

.1 Granted, something rather significant happened with the death
of Jesus. Anything else?
Ezekiel 37:12-13 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the
Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and
cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the
land of Israel. And ye shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I have
opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your
graves,

I believe the passage in Ezekiel speaks of things that haven't happened yet.

| .3 Jim,
I take it you mean that you don't believe that the verse in Matthew
referred to in .0 is necessarily the fulfillment of prophesy of the
Ezekiel verses referred to in .2 specifically, and perhaps of other
prophesies. I think the term for your theological stance is something
like "pre-millenialist," is it not? (I get these terms all mixed up
and it doesn't matter all that much anyway, at least, not to me.)
So you believe the passage in Ezekiel speaks of things yet to happen.
Fair enough.
Shalom,
Richard

I s'pose one could refer to me as a premillenialist if they're so inclined.

| .5 Jim,
Can you see how someone might how see the Matthew verse (.0) might
be construed as fulfillment of prophesy??
If so, what makes you rule it out?
No argument. Just curious.
Peace,
Richard

Possibly.....I did a brief reading in Ezekiel last night and got the
impression from the context of the chapter that what was prophecied
took place after Israel became a nation once again. Perhaps what took
place in Matthew was also prophecied elsewhere.
I'll do some more reading on it tonight.
