Yep!! My Dad.. When I call home and he answers the phone, it is
guaranteed that within thirty seconds he will be talking about
something religous.. Drives me nuts, and I am a christian....

| YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
MY AUNT! As a child I had to go to church with my aunt for quite some
time ... she was AG (Assembly of God). I love the lady but she nearly
drove me absolutely, positively, resolutely N U T S. I don't give a
flip what the subject was .. here comes ol' Jesus into the conversation.
I (painfully) remember when I got home from the USMC ... we were
discussing what I had gone through. Yep, before you knew it - here it
comes ... "well, you know *who* was responsible for your safety!".
Well ... the ol' USMC language came as a "natural" to me.
Without even thinking I said "Yes 'um - I was - I worked my butt off.
I was a good shot and the bastards that I was shooting at weren't
as good as I was".
You'd have thought I sent the lady into cardiac arrest.
Oh well .. she still loves me to this day .. being as religious as she
is I'm now seen as a "challenge" to her.

| I seem to be a magnet. Evangelists approach me in public places. They always
have.
We currently have a neighbor who gives out religious tracts instead of candy at
Halloween, a practice which I'm sure has the approval of the American Dental
Association. ;-)
I don't have any relatives whom I would describe as so religious that they
nearly drive me crazy, but I won't say that *they* don't have such a relative.
Maybe it's me! 8-)
Peace,
Richard

Is there something wrong with this? Reminds me of the council in
Deuteronomy 6:4-9. Basicly it states we should love God fully and
live that way, teaching others at various times in our daily lives.
Ponder on this.. If you had knowledge that you felt would benefit
others, even save their lives, wouldn't you be excited about sharing
it? If someone didn't listen the 1st time but you really care about
them wouldn't you try again, and again, and again?

Robin,
It's like being locked into a conference room filled with Amway
distributors.. No matter what you say, like, " What a cloudy day it is"
" Yes is it,and may I take this opportunity to talk to you about Amways
new Cloud away product" : No thanks, did you see the game last night"
No, but if I did I would have seen it much clearer thanks to Amway's
new Vita-A-eyeball improver" :-)
Neurotic converationalists are annoying,

I have my share of people and friends I consider very religious, it
is a particular class of religious people that annoy me. The people
that are in my face to the point of rudeness are unacceptable, there
are times that I'd prefer to not discuss things. Religion and
spirituality is one of my most personal parts and while often I welcome
conversation and even heated discussion there are times where I prefer
my space and privacy on the subject. Those people who would seek to
convert me or evanglize me are invading that space as most I encounter
do not wish to debate it, they are there to tell me and that is not
acceptable. There is such a thing as too much.

Well, maybe there isn't a problem, but the experience is not an uncommon one.
Most of us manage to cope with the annoyance we might feel. In some
households, however, excessive religiosity can be a chronic and severe
source of friction.
Peace,
Richard

"Ah, yes, my late wife was a most remarkable woman," the mild
old Englishman told one of his cronies on a park bench in
London.
"A very religious woman," he continued.
"Never missed a day in church and at home it was prayers and
psalm-singing from morning to night."
"How did she come to die?" the friend inquired.
"I strangled her."
