    In  a few weeks, I will be going on a very special prayer pilgrimage
    to the village of Medjugorje, Bosnia-Hercegovnia; this village
    (for those who may not know) has been the site of ongoing daily apparitions
    by the Blessed Virgin Mary since June 25, 1981. The little village 
    and its people are known for their peace, holiness, and unity within
    a world (and region) of turmoil. 
    
    This special pilgrimage will occur during the 11th year anniversary
    of the apparitions and, due to the war in the region, it will be one
    very deeply committed to prayer and union with Christ in the sufferings
    of all people. We will be praying for our troubled world, our troubled
    and often injust social systems, and for the woundedness of our people.
    We will be praying for God's spiritual and physical healings and the
    outpouring of the Holy Spirit so that God's Kingdom may be more 
    firmly established in the hearts of people, families, and our society.
    
    I will be praying for all conference noters in a general way. If 
    anyone would like me to make a special intercessory prayer for a 
    particular intention while in Medjugorje then I would be pleased to
    take yours with me.
    
    If your request is something that you would like others in this file
    to also pray for, please post it as a reply to this note. If it is
    more confidential, then please send it to me at USADEC::NELSON. I
    will ensure that they all remain confidential and are destroyed 
    after the intercession has been made.
    
    May I have your prayers for a safe and spiritually graced pilgrimage.

    How wonderful for you to make this pilgrimage and kind of you to offer
    prayers.
    
    I recently read a lovely little book on the subject written by a woman
    psychotherapist and student of A Course In Miracles.  It was her
    personal story of her pilgrimage to Medjugorje and her experiences
    there and the impact they had on her life when she returned.  I found
    her perpective interesting and refreshing.
    
    I've lent the book to a friend, if you would like to read it I can mail
    it to you as soon as it is returned to me.
    
    Loving thoughts and prayers to you in your journey.  I've been to
    Yugoslavia (Dubrovnik) and found it an enchanting place (this was in
    1989).  I too hope to make a pilgrimage to Medjugorje some time.
    Everyone I've talked to who has been there has said it was a truly
    healing experience for them.

    I had a very inspiring pilgrimage that was far beyond what I imagined
    it would be. I prayed for all the individual intentions in this note
    and those who sent me something privatly. I know that God is providing
    what He, in his Divine Wisdom, knows is best for each of us.
