This last Sunday morning I was up feeding Kendall at 4:00 AM and I flipped on the tube to see what might be on. I started listening to this minister reading from the Bible and he mentioned that we are in the "third earth age". I had never heard this expression before. He went on to say that those who say the earth is only 6000 years old are dead wrong because they are not taking into account the 2 earth ages previous to the creation of mankind. This surprised me because up until this point everything he had been saying pretty basic conservative Christian doctrine. Is this a concept that is well known and widely accepted ? Is anyone else familiar with this concept of three earth ages and if so could you explain them to me ? I wish I could remember the name of the program, but all that I recall is that the program was from Little Rock Arkansas.

Interesting question Mike. I don't know about a third earth age from a Christian perspective, but there are many Native American legends that talk of this being the end of the 4th world and the beginning of the 5th world. Long before I knew of those legends, I had a strange dream. I was standing outside in a sparsely treed area, and as I looked up at the sky there were 4 earths above me. As I looked, each one exploded and I felt helpless as I thought of all the people who were living there. That's all I remember of the dream. Many years later I read of these legends and that dream came back to me very strongly. Carole | |||||

Mike, Though I seen the genre of programming you describe, I have no idea what notion they're referring to by the "Third Earth Age." Peace, Richard |
