| If we all reported on the benefits we've received as individuals and as
community, you'd have to buy some new peripherals to save all the info!
Your moderation, pun intended, keeps the old fires burning.

| Seriously, I think that C-P is a benefit to keeping the
flames down in another notes conference.

| I can't say enough about how important this notes conference has been
to me.
Prior to the establishment of C-P, there was no legitimately ecumenical
notes file devoted to the discussion of Christianity. The ability to
speak freely on matters of Christian theology, without the fear of
heavy handed moderation and overt censorship, is something that I had
sought for some time. When C-P was established, it was finally
available. At long last I could discuss theological issues in a forum
that I was comfortable with.
The moderators here don't maintain a blacklist of unapproved churches;
if a noter wants to post an announcement of activities at the church
they belong to, they don't have to fear that it will be censored. The
moderators don't set up a doctrinal "standard", enforced through
moderator intervention, that determines what theological views can be
expressed here. What a breath of fresh air C-P has been! And not
only has it been a home for me, but I hope it has been a home for
others as well. It has been a pleasure to see many notes here from
people who were not welcome elsewhere, who have found a home here.
I want to thank each one of the moderators: Bonnie, Bob M., Bob
F., Dave, Richard, and Karen, for the fine job they have done.

| And the mods are willing to have their decisions *openly* questioned.
(At least I think there must have *some* time when we questioned *some*
decision they made... or are they perfect? - Can't remember! :-) )

| I visited briefly with Ruth Fannin via telephone today. She says she
misses C-P a lot, that for a while C-P was like church to her. There
are conferences on the net, but they just don't have as much of a sense
of community as C-P.

| At times C-P has been a sort of church for me. For that I am grateful
to everyone from the Cindy's to the Collis's.
Other times it has been like visiting the Algonquin Round Table. For
that I am thankful to all the same people.
The point is, C-P is both inspirational and thought provoking. When I
log on it's like coming into a room of friends... friends who will both
call you to task and lift you up. When I log out I say a quiet "I've
got to split for a while; see you later." The variety of thoughts
expressed -- and allowed -- in C-P is what sets this conference apart
from other similar conferences. It is difference between pizza and
white bread. Viva la pizza! :^)
